  1. I'll be there with my girlfriend, my parents, and however many fraternity brothers I can convince to come!
  2. I did not look this up, but I am pretty sure capacity is 50,000 and it cost somewhere over 200 million. I read it at some point.
  3. No, we are pretty much at capacity right now. Sounds like a good idea to me though.
  4. It was a lot of fun. I still think it was cool when it was on the Super Pit floor, but all in all this is more appropriate. Pretty much a full house, overflowing with optimism. Shanice Stephens is awesome! Go Mean Green!
  5. I would take the arena over the Super Pit any day.
  6. There was a paid speaker under contract so it could not feasibly been cancelled. After this I am sure in the future things will not be scheduled on the date of the first round home game...
  7. When I first read this post, I thought John Q. Hammonds was the guy from Jurassic Park, and the deal was a complete joke, haha.
  8. I am Greek. A member of Pi Kappa Alpha, and on the IFC Executive Board. For the record, I had nothing to do with the scheduling in the first place, but they did move Unity Night to 6pm, to end at 7pm so people can attend the game. People will also be encouraged to go the the game. It is exciting that the University admistration these days will move something for athletics!! This would not have happened a few years ago.
  9. My dad said that game was crazy! I hope I get to see it full someday. I wonder if there are pictures or video anywhere of that game?
  10. As of now, me (current UNT Junior) and my parents (UNT alums) are planning on going, but with the economy how it is, it really depends on how we are playing going into the tournament. I hope we go in looking like we have a shot...
  11. I drove up from Plano to see this one. Though I normally sit with the pit crew, I opted to sit center court about halfway up. To be honest, I almost fell asleep...they smothered every attempt we made to get back into it. Kudos to new orleans...in a couple years they won't be able to beat us though!
  12. I am calling more for the alumni in Dallas to show up than the students...with how many there are in Dallas there is no excuse to have less than 500 UNT fans there.
  13. The game is tomorrow at Moody Colisseum at SMU, 2:00 pm. They played a hell of a game in New Mexico, losing to a team that will be ranked before too long. Come out and show them some support. Who is in?
  14. I hope ya'll enjoy this. Rick Mckinney requested more boomer, and I think the cannon is in there twice this year! Go Mean Green!
  15. We play Western Kentucky tomorrow. Also, I will tailgate with you, haha. Go Mean Green. 2 more wins to the tourney!
  16. Voted Yes!!
  17. That is a stretch. I did not look this up, but from what I can remember we only had 3 crowds over 5,000 last year, which would be half of the pit. Most of them were around 3500, which would it nearly 2/3 empty...but it WAS 3/2 rowdy...
  18. Thanks for making me feel better TTG!
  19. I felt like it was just patronizing the team when everyone goes nuts when we kick a field goal to make the score 35-3. I clapped, but I couldn't scream my head off. I agree, the fireworks were kind of sad given the situation. I don't really mind then after the game, but during the game when we aren't even close seems a little dumb.
  20. Best chance for conference title this year....
  21. I honestly believe that Euless Trinity or Plano Senior High (#1 and #2 in Texas respectively) could give us a run for our money. Any mediocre offense can score on our defense at will. I doubt they could stop our offense, but you never know. As much as I like Plano, that is just sad.
  22. The smallest "butts in seats" crowd I can remember under the Darrel Dickey era was New Mexico State in 2000. It was the last game of the season.
  23. The Dallas Morning News: Where the facts are almost true since 1885.
  24. If Alabama-Huntsville has one we sure as hell should...
