I'll take the automatic NIT bid anyday, then let the rest of the seeds fall where they may. If we get the #1 seed, we should be able to beat either the 8 or 9 seed, and get to the semifinal. At that point anything can happen. I think our team will play better in the SBC Tourney if they already have the NIT bid in their pocket...

I agree with you. I guess my expectations of the Sun Belt to do the logical thing and have the tiebreakers applied to the "official" standings are just way too high...

I talked to a friend of mine earlier whose girlfriend is on the swim team. He said that WKU is expected to take the lead tonight from UNT. Also, if UNT can manage to keep it reasonably close, then we still have a chance at the title because we stand to get more points than them tomorrow (final day). He made the championship seem like sort of a long shot, but also said that if we end up a close second, that it is an enormous accomplishment.

According to the Sun Belt website, MTSU has the lead in the east, not FAU... If that is the case, we might still have the #3 seed. The sun belt tiebreak rules are not the clearest ever written, but at this point in the year, I would think the official standings would have them taken into account... Sun Belt Standings

I'm going to rationalize WKU's play right now in my mind and just go with USA not playing well right now. USA meaning south alabama, not the United States, who are leading the medal count! I'm waiting for a "suck it canada" from Green P1...

I hope as the school spirit continues to improve, we end up with some of our own chants. With the student body president election coming up, if the guy I anticipate to win it actually does, we will see a renewed focus/committment to the Pit Crew like we saw with Jeff Kline as president. With this, hopefully the Pit Crews uniqueness will start to manifest itself in the chants.

The Sun Belt site is unclear whether or not the H2H tiebreaker works when there is only one meeting of the teams during the season. The next tiebreak on the list is the record vs. the #1 seed. If the H2H is not considered since we only played FAU once, FAU's win over arky state would currently put them above us.

I really thought we would get o'sullivan into the game at some point for FAU. Lol. We yelled for him practically the whole second half.

If we get stuck with a 4-5 seed, hopefully our backups can get us a W while letting our starters rest most of the game for the next round. I think with the weakness of the 12-13 seeds, the 4-5 seed could potentially win those 4 games in 4 days.

I am still holding out for a 9-11 seed from the girls in the tourney. I would love to see an upset up there this year. I believe they were 11 last year and knocked of 6 seeded Arky State, but not 100% sure. Anything lower than 11 makes things look grim for the first round of the tournament, so they need to string some wins together to end the season... Go Mean Green! - Matt

I am big fan of the backup goalie Alex Auld. I've seen a couple of his games, and a couple of Turco, and I much prefer Auld. Granted, my hockey knowledge is not vast...although I am much more informed when it comes to hockey than when my girlfriend asks me what dress she should wear to the UNT Football Banquet.
