  1. Is 3 out of conference home games really the best we could do?
  2. They don't tailgate, they boulevard. LOL. Dallas Observer
  3. Does anyone know if there is any truth to those rumors that our capacity had been upped to 35,000? And HELL YEAH our stadium is going to look bigtime!
  4. Just to clarify, UNT Dallas is no longer in this number right? So the true increase of students in Denton is an even bigger number than it seems?
  5. Well they are even farther out of the wild card than the division lead...so it may be quittin' time for the A's.
  6. I can't bring myself to make a prediction. My heart and my head are saying two different things.
  7. I think we win all three games of our "homestand". ULL, Arky State, and FIU. The crowds will get better with each win. I understand I am probaby drinking a big glass of the kool-aid, but at this point optimism is not going to hurt anything.
  8. There's not a limit on medical redshirts per year is there...?
  9. Ridiculous may even be an understatement.
  10. We won't lose again until we play Troy, but if James Madison can beat Virginia Tech, there is no reason we can't beat Troy too!
  11. Unless we start winning...and it MUST start this Saturday.
  12. For the record, "hanging out" meant inside the game.
  13. I understand that you aren't happy with where the program is, none of us are either...seriously, I do not like where we are one bit. That does not mean though, that every last shred of optimism needs to be battered down into the ground like a whack-a-mole machine. That kind of takes all the fun out of it, dude. Yeah, we lost, but I had a hell of a time hanging out with my friends cheering on my school. I think MckinneyMiner said it best in his "Perspective from a New Season Ticket Holder" thread. There is a lot more to all this than just the football game.
  14. I really don't like the idea of 2-3 more rebuilding years. This team needs to get on a roll, and get on a roll now, so we don't even have to worry about finding a new coach. That being said, I would go after a Head Coach from either 1-AA or Division 2. Someone who has proven themselves as a head coach at the college level. Maybe a guy like Chris Thomsen from Abilene Christian. They have been a D2 powerhouse over the last few years, and have put more players in the NFL than we have over that period. He has Texas ties and is known for his recruiting.
  15. For the record, we are absolutely due to beat FAU...Schnellenberger is going down this time.
  16. I think anything we can do to help him find his dog is the best gift we could give him.
  17. I was trying to maintain an overall slightly upbeat feel to the post , because despite being as pathetic as we have been the last 5 years, the students are poised and ready to jump on board, we just need to string a couple of wins together to bring them back after that heartbreaking loss.
  18. They sure do! Come on out to the game.
  19. You beat me to it UNTDude, haha. I was going to wait a day or two and then throw this into the very active football forum to get the word out. This should be a great game!
  20. I have not physically been on campus today, but I have talked to a lot of people the last couple days. It was a good close game, but losing the way we usually do, in heartbreak fashion, really takes a toll on people. That being said, if we can take care of business and come back to Fouts with a 2-2 record, It seems that people are ready to come back out in force for the Louisiana-Lafeyette game, and with good weather (not so freakin hot) we may see just as big a student crowd than we saw against Rice. Close games are not going to cut it anymore. After these 5+ years of mediocrity, and (almost) all the students gone from the 2004 New Orleans Bowl Year, it takes WINS, and only WINS to get the students to come out past the 1st game of the year. Every year the students come out for the first one to see whats up. Last year Ohio was heartbreak, and this year the same thing, but A LOT of people believe in this team. This loss to Rice was bad, but its nothing that wins against Army and FAU can't fix. Look for a big and rowdy crowd if we come back home 2-2!
  21. The game is on one of the CBS college sports networks. It says which one on the Mean Green Sports website. Here is a link to the facebook group for the campus watch party on Fry Street. They are hanging a big screen on that UNT 18-wheeler and, unless I am reading it wrong, parking it in that open field across from the bars. Watching Party
  22. It makes me really happy that we beat the rest of the world with a team that did not even contain our best players. Although, without Kevin Durant, I don't think we would have even come close to winning. He was a beast.
  23. Kelsey Perlman was named tournament Offensive MVP for the Red Raider Classic. Michelle Young also made the All-Tournament Team. Mean Green Sports
  24. Turkey went on a little run. Lead back down to 11.
