  1. If we take one of the first two in TB...Rangers in 4. If we lose the first two games...Rays in 4.
  2. I don't really take Wright Waters seriously anymore...especially after proving last year that he could not even seed the teams for the basketball tournament correctly.
  3. LA controls their own destiny for the Supporters Shield. FCD controls its own destiny for second place. We pass RSL with a win at Rio Tinto Stadium in two weeks. To get the supporters shield we need to win out, and hope that LA either ties or loses to Philly (Away) or Colorado (Home). Unfortunately, if we do not get the Supporters Shield, we are going to have to get to the MLS cup final to get a champions league birth. I personally think we have a much better shot at winning the MLS cup than the supporters shield.
  4. I have stared at the designs and construction extensively in the past (which I know is kind of lame) thinking about this. At that point, we would assume we have the money to spend, even if expansion is expensive. Expanding to 70k or 80k may require tearing out the AC deck and completing the bowl around the stadium. The only other thing I can think of is they lengthen the press box on the alumni side to be the full length of stands, and put an upper deck on that side. Both of these are kind of extreme, but may work if we ever needed it. An upper deck over the completed bowl in the endzone opposite the AC may be the first step past 50K though.
  5. I have been under the impression that the wings were going to be torn out...thats why they are being made cheaply of metal...I don't have inside information or anything...just thought that was the plan.
  6. Tear out the wing, particularly because of the ugly steel support beams, and complete the bowl with concrete all the way around. Then add an upper deck on the student side, with a row of suites in between levels like Kansas State...if expansion is needed past that, we must be doing really, really well.
  7. I would argue that the fact we are losing all these close games is much more telling of his coaching ability than the fact that they were close to begin with. A coach HAS to be able to instill a winning attitude, and that simply has not happened. What close games have we come out on top in the last 3.5 years? FAU is one...the only other ones I can think of are WKU in 2007 and 2008, which don't really count because WKU was completely and utterly terrible.
  8. I am on the Dodge bandwagon until the sixth loss. After going...what is it now, 6-35 over three and a half years, I just don't think there is ANY more room for excuses, even this amount of injuries. EDIT: By the way, I think ULM, ASU, and WKU are the winnable games. If we beat FIU, I think its a pretty big upset.
  9. Ken Murczek, the new volleyball coach has turned things around in less than 1 year, with players that he did not recruit, plus a couple of transfers. I know where you are coming from, but it is not impossible for the RIGHT hire to turn things around immediately, especially with the talent we already have. As for the medical redshirts, I think those went out the window after the ARMY game, not sure though.
  10. Don't forget the spider bite...I'm pretty much at the point of disbelief. All the injuries, added to losing all these heartbreaking games is just unreal.
  11. Not a chance. All his excuses are used up. It was either win this year with whatever hand he was dealt, or find another job. I like Dodge, and even STILL want him to succeed, but if not, make the change. A bunch of people on here are saying that RV needs to keep his word, and not fire Dodge until the sixth loss, and I agree with that. He also needs to keep his word that if the required results are not achieved, a change will be made. I honestly think that the fanbase will take a huge hit if Dodge is brought back after another 1-4 win season.
  12. Is that season ending?
  13. I thought his performance was gutsy even before his broken wrist came to light.
  14. Because it is our tradition...there are enough universities that do it to make it not "high school."
  15. That didn't pass...so no, it is not.
  16. Announced crowd will probably be between 12k-15k.
  17. Two hours before kickoff...should be 4:30 today.
  18. Mean Green Soccer beat ULM 4-0, and Mean Green Volleyball took down ULL 3-1. Soccer team turned it on at the end while I was at the vball game, so I'm not sure yet how the goals were scored. By the way, the atmosphere inside the Mean Green Volleyball Center is awesome! It was pretty full, and they had a live band playing in between points. If you can check it out at least once this season! Good night for UNT volleyball and soccer! Go Mean Green! Beat the Cajuns Tomorrow! Soccer Article Volleyball Article

  19. Excellent.
  20. Who is visiting?
  21. I'm watching the UFL game on Versus right now, Las Vegas vs. Florida, and Adrian Awasom got a good mention during the lineups. They said his height, weight, AND they mentioned he was from North Texas. They didn't mention the alma maters of any of the other defensive players for Las Vegas. He also made the tackle on the very next play! He was a darn good player here, and it's pretty cool to see he is still out there representing North Texas well!
  22. Says the guy that thinks smu's basketball program is more nationally relevant than UNT...
  23. I'll reiterate that it is much too early to panic. WKU was picked third in the preseason, we were picked fourth, and the team we lost to today, MTSU, was picked fifth. We have a young team with lots of upside, and I am very confident that if we had played these games at home we would have won both. In almost any sun belt sport, the MTSU, WKU road trip is grueling, not just because of the distance, but because they have good teams. UNT really should take both games this coming weekend, and start their way back up the SBC standings.
  24. I'd go if I knew what time.
  25. We lost to WKU as well last year. They are a good team, but like last year, and just like with basketball, the Sun Belt seems to always make us play them on the road. It is not an easy road trip to make (WKU and MTSU), so I think it is WAY too early to jump to conclusions. This team has showed they can play with some great teams, and are probably better than the #4 pick the Sun Belt Coaches gave them.
