  1. I don't understand Why people hate on Knox He's still only a Sophomore and needs to take his knocks He must have some potential He has an awesome tat People will begin to believe when they see his all out rim attack.
  2. Here's the deal homies I don't know why you're rappin I guess it's to hijack the thread Or boost your reputation I have to give props though You're rhymes they represent Something pretty awesome Like a Jarion Henry letter of intent!
  3. MTSU does not sponsor Men's or Women's Swimming and Diving, but of late they have been dominating the Bubas Cup. We need to start pulling the money together for these other sports and quit worrying about Title IX. WKU for example offers the exact same women's sports that we do, but offers two more men's sports (tennis and baseball). Edit: Make that three more men's sports...I forgot about the WKU Men's Swimming and Diving team.
  4. You're missing out...
  5. My favorite part was when his second airball happened, and the first thing he did was complain that he was fouled. I'm pretty sure he only shot around 50% from the FT line as well.
  6. That is proposterous....Egenti is injured.
  7. It is an uphill battle to catch WKU. We have to get ahead of them by enough points that their Men's Swimming, Men's Tennis, and Baseball teams can't score enough to catch up with us. We are guaranteed ZERO points from all of those, which is why we need to add a couple sports. MTSU is a really strong program, especially in Cross Country, as well as Indoor and Outdoor Track and field. If you count Men's and Womens, that is 6 events which MTSU always gets close to maximum points in. It sounds crazy, but the key piece to a run for the Bubas Cup is strong CC and T&F. Without it, winning is nearly impossible. CMJ, if you send me a PM with your e-mail address I will send you the spreadsheet.
  8. It looks like the played it safe and didn't do any marching on the ice.
  9. I really, REALLY hope that Jordan Williams is doing everything he can to convince Jarion Henry to come here. If he does this class would reach mind blowing status in my opinion. It is already getting close. GMG!
  10. For some reason SHSU worries me a lot more than Texas Southern. I don't really have anything to back that up other than my gut, and it seems we do really well against the SWAC schools. I see SHSU playing us with a lot more confidence out of the Southland. If we do manage to win both, we have a really great opportunity to be 10-1 heading into the LSU game...which would be exciting.
  11. Ben Knox scored 4! I know it is not much, but during the last couple minutes of the game, he actually looked somewhat confident, even with his back to the basket. He had a couple good blocks as well. We don't need him to be a star, but if he can just get to the point where he can give a few quality minutes, that would be huge. I have not given up yet.
  12. Jokes like that would be a lot better/funnier if we had any room to talk about not being in a bowl game.
  13. A North Texas win once again saves the SBC website from an awkward, non-descriptive headline to describe the nights basketball action! Last Night it was simply: "Wednesday night mens basketball."
  14. .....Thinking before you speak is so underrated these days...
  15. They sure do love their emoticons in Jonesboro.... ...... .....
  16. As long as he keeps playing Zombie Nation, an occasional Jump Around is ok with me. It is better than a couple years ago when they played the slow intro to "Paradise City" during a close game in the last couple minutes. That was a definite face palm.
  17. For the sake of due diligence, I hope we gave him a phone call, but... Mccarney + Enthusiasm > Leach + Arrogance + Baggage
  18. The SBC has released the Bubas Cup standings through Volleyball. Football is the only fall sport left to be decided. Here is the link: Bubas Cup Standings UNT is currently in 3rd place. 2.5 points behind WKU, and 8 points behind MTSU. We will gain at least 1.5 points on WKU because of football, but will lose ground to MTSU. This is pretty much a three horse race every year with us, western, and middle. We came in third place last year. Interesting Fact: WKU is the only school to field every sport the SBC offers. Interesitng Fact #2: Vball, MBB, and WBB all use a combination of divisional finish and tournament finish to determine points gained. Since UNT tied for the west division title in Vball, then beat the co-champion in the tournament. UNT got the second highest amount of points (11) awarded for VBall despite being the #5 seed. If anyone wants an interactive spreadsheet (yes I am a nerd) to follow along with the standings, and not have to wait for the conference to release them, let me know. I tried to attach it to the post but excel files are not allowed.
  19. Wow...I thought FIFA was dumb before when they said they didn't want to use any video replay... Russia is a much better pick than Qatar (Qatar? really?), but neither are home run picks...especially when England and the United States were available. Russia is going to have to try and "brand" themselves out of the negative stigma they have. Especially to Americans who usually purchase the most WC tickets of any country other than the host. With Qatars location in the middle east, FIFA is taking a gamble with that one. Good thing WC 1994 made so much money the USSF is still benefitting from it. Put any world cup at any time in England or the United States, and every stadium is filled for every game. England has not hosted since 1966 I believe...they are even more due then we are. See you in Brazil in 2014 though! Go USA!
  20. I'm sure their judgement would have been different if Cam Newton was not a star player at a BCS school...
  21. After years and years of near perfect Title IX compliance, it's time we just add baseball and not worry about Title IX (assuming we had the start up money available). After baseball I would like to see men's soccer, but at that point we would probably need to add a women's sport with it. Arkansas State has women's bowling...I can't imagine that is all that expensive to start up.
  22. I am 100% part of the school of thought that a win is a win no matter how it happens...but we really ought to take advantage of this opportunity to just dominate somebody. The performance of Grambling to date this yearr is not very impressive. Especially with the third game in 6 days on Saturday, it would be great for our starters to get a good rest and our bench players to get some good playing time. I think a little confidence could go a long way for some of our bench guys; especially Ben Knox.
  23. As long as we win the game, I don't care. If we beat a bad team by 1, then go out a couple nights later and beat a good team by 1, it is all the same to me. In my opinion, the best thing to take from these 4 games against D1 teams is that this team knows how to win. They have gotten themselves into some difficult scenarios this year, but so far have always found a way to win.
  24. I am really curious to see how quickly they get into recruiting. Mccarney will have a little more time than Dodge did to get his first class together. If I were a recruit, and he were sitting in my living room, I would have a hard time not getting excited. I expect it will be a good recruiting class.
