  1. The year shouldn't be over...I would be shocked if they didn't get an invite to the regionals...the women did and they are ranked lower.
  2. According to the Sun Belt twitter: @The_Sun_Belt Sun Belt Conference Due to severe weather in the area the final round the 2011 Club Glove Men's Golf Championship has been canceled. Looks like we ended up tying for second, unless by cancelled they mean rescheduled for tomorrow... EDIT: Yep, its over according to the official SBC site.
  3. If we lose by 2 or less...
  4. There appears to be some sort of delay today...probably weather.
  5. Location of the player doesn't matter, but their skill does. As long as we win basketball games I wouldn't care if we got every player from Bangor, Maine. EDIT: The point is we don't need to go after local kids just because they are local...
  6. I don't think I said there were any...I just said it would be hard to get them to come.
  7. I think we finally have enough evidence to determine that HoopManX really knows nothing about basketball, is not well connected in the area, and is simply your average SMU fan overflowing with unbridled pretentiousness and arrogance.
  8. I can't find anywhere that it was cancelled. UNT is 4 shots back of Denver heading into day 3, and Carlos Ortiz is one stroke up on the random guy from ULM. We are within striking distance. UNT will get invited to regionals either way, but the championship would be nice.
  9. Here is the competition. The top 8 teams move onto the NCAA championships. Seed/Team (Golfstat/Golfweek rankings) 1. UCLA (2/2) 2. Duke (5/7) 3. LSU (8/6) 4. Arkansas (11/12) 5. Wake Forest (16/14) 6. Texas (20/22) 7. Tulane (14/23) 8. Stanford (24/28) 9. NOTRE DAME (25/24) 10. Ohio State (30/31) 11. Kent State (32/35) 12. Chattanooga (35/30) 13. Northwestern (40/38) 14. Minnesota (39/41) 15. UNLV (43/47) 16. Oklahoma State (48/45) 17. North Texas (45/52) 18. Wisconsin (56/51) 19. East Carolina (54/50) 20. Michigan (59/64) 21. Illinois (61/61) 22. Morehead State (90/87) 23. Illinois State (146/130) 24. Butler (158/163)
  10. Of the 15 offers he already has, UNT and Air Force are the only non-AQ schools. I like that we are going after these guys. Rivals
  11. It is not all that easy to get teams to play us in the Super Pit when we beat just about everyone that comes here to play. Johnny Jones has never lost to a Big 12 team at the Super Pit. I'm sure the top teams in that conference and others will not be cheap to bring to Denton...
  12. That may be a couple thousand low...
  13. #38 North Texas is in second after day 1, 3 shots behind Denver. The surprise of the day (for me at least) is that #40 MTSU is 19 shots off the lead. Carlos Ortiz is one shot of the tournament lead at 3-under behind some random guy from ULM. Mean Green Sports Day 1 Write-up SBC Team Leaderboard SBC Player Leaderboard
  14. Bloopers17, on , said: Three teams from the Belt made it to post season play Denver who finished 1st in the conference along with UNT's fourth place finish and FIU finishing fifth in the Sunbelt Conference. Good Luck to all three teams at regionals This is great news! Click here to view the article
  15. SMU cares about charity?!?!?!?!
  16. NT lost 4-3 to FIU. They put up a great fight though, especially battling though all the sickness/injuries this year.
  17. I heard there was going to be a smaller, secondary scoreboard in the wingzone corner opposite the press box side.
  18. That would be excellent.
  19. It looks like Chico's work will pay off....for South Florida.
  20. Happy Birthday John!
  21. I have every intention of brainwashing my future children into the "ways of the green"... In all seriousness, it will come down to what THEY want to do. Like many have said though, if it is SMU, A&M or UT, they can pay for it themselves. I couldn't let them waste 4 years. For what it's worth, as a person that was going to UNT football games before I was even old enough to remember (The 1995 Oregon State football game is the first one I can recall), I can say with 100% confidence that my life-long experience with UNT has not been a disappointment, and I've received so much more in return than I've put in. I wouldn't trade it for anything, and it is for that reason why I would have no problem steering my childeren to UNT unless it was not in line with their hopes, dreams, and aspirations. It will be a few more years before I even have kids though...
  22. The publicity may be a bad thing for him actually...his strategy is probably to fly under the radar and hope people vote "straight crazy" on election day...
  23. Every year there needs to be six true home games. Going back to 5 home games for 3 of the next 5 years seems like a big step backward... Hopefully some big donations come in so we can drop one of the money games in all of those seasons and add a home game in its place. I hope that Athletic Department is looking at ways to fix this.
