  1. I don’t believe the timing is a material factor when there is no travel involved. 2.5 vs. 3.5 weeks lead time is just not relevant in most circumstances. I do agree the time of the game itself is less than ideal, but we have what? 40,000 students and 300,000 alumni within a 1-hour drive of the stadium. We need just over 5% of them to show up to fill the stadium. 5%. There aren’t legitimate excuses for that.
  2. That’s so cool for Tylor to take the time to do that. Something the kid will never forget. When I was 8 or 9 Ladarrin McLane gave me his receiver gloves after the last game of a football season. I still have those 25 years or so later.
  3. That’s a good question. But I think Wren Baker asked for the steps to be fixed and Neil Smatresk said no is pretty far down the list of possibilities. I would bet the thought of fixing the steps has crossed no ones minds of the people with authority to actually do it.
  4. Is short notice really that big of an issue when the game is closer to most people than a game in Denton?
  5. They did it this way so they could (as best they could) evenly spread out the people that the KNEW were going to buy tickets. And then fill in from there with others. At no point was it showing as a sell out so it’s not like anyone that wanted tickets wouldn’t have been able to get them. If we are looking for someone to blame for why there are still so many tickets left I think a mirror would be helpful.
  6. The answer appears to be not that many.
  7. Can we please stop acting like the University is blocking fixing steps. If they or the athletic department wanted to fix the steps, or anything else, they'd do it. Neil Smatresk is not going to allow the university facilities department to be obstructionist about the things NT athletics would like to do.
  8. A BUNCH of tickets just got released in the middle of the main North Texas allotment including most of section 128. This is not even going to get close to a sell out (I hope I'm wrong).
  9. They love being called Miami-Ohio, so probably the latter.
  10. I think the only catch there is that every school has those rich alumni.
  11. Would love to know exactly what the allotment was. Has to be most of that east side, so what, 6k or 7k?
  12. I would like to know how big the allotment was. In any event, glad they sold it out. Right now weather is showing low 70s and partly sunny. If that holds we may have a good walk up crowd.
  13. Well, I think there is plenty of blame to go around. But let's look at a program that hasn't floundered in the last few years. Men's basketball. We can barely put a couple of thousand fans in the super pit to see a program that wins. It is even worse for the smaller sports where our fan base does not even show up with one time special events. Both the soccer team and softball team have played for championships at home in recent years and our small venues weren't full. The people that are on this board really aren't the issue, so in that sense it is like preaching to the choir. But ultimately, yes, I believe we are where we are as a program because of lack of support.
  14. The angst over the Buffalo loss was never THAT we lost, it was HOW we lost.
  15. I know a lot of people have a "build it and they will come" mentality when it comes to NT Athletics, but the unfortunate reality is we have exactly the program we deserve. Given the sheer number of NT graduates and their acquaintances, the fan support we have is nothing short of abysmal.
  16. And so it begins.
  17. I remember playing them a few years ago. I’m going to say 2016 but that’s a total guess.
  18. It’s not going to.
  19. Two more tickets sold in 130. We are going to do it!
  20. What is Benford’ed?
  21. Yeah. On day one they basically had exactly half of the rows available to purchase. Now, on the east side you have to presume we’ve basically sold all the ones not offered through AXS. But I think at least half the west side is still unsold. Not to mention the sideline seats toward the south end (along with the end zone seats) have been blocked off entirely from day 1. Attendance Nostradamus heavily suggests you be prepared for a 3/4 or so full stadium.
  22. I’m sure all of these guys are just salivating at the thought of coming to North Texas.
  23. I think they are playing games with the seat availability.
