  1. ...Just about 47' X 27'. Mean Green Blog
  2. Good Point. I've never been to Honduras, but have watched some games played in their stadium on TV. Getting shot (or something like it) probably isn't all that far fetched.
  3. Mexico turned it on in the second half and beat Cuba 5-0. So Group A looks like this going into the final matchday: Mexico - 6 Costa Rica - 4 El Salvador - 1 Cuba - 0 97and03, "Go Honduras USA". Fixed it for you .
  4. Final from game 1 tonight: Costa Rica 1-1 El Salvador That is a big help to Mexico unless Cuba somehow beats or ties them tonight, and after an inspired 38 minutes of defense from Cuba, Mexico broke through to take a 1-0 lead...
  5. A guy that my girlfriend went to HS with died in Afghanistan a couple months ago. The westboro baptist church had planned to protest it, and even wrote a press release that ended with "Thank God for IED's"....He was killed by an IED. They never showed up, after talking to a few people I know from her hometown, apparently they had stayed the night in Oklahoma and their tires got slashed, and none of the local tire shops would repair them. Not sure if that is what really happened or not. Anyways, you have to be a really evil A-hole to be mentioned in the same breath as the westboro baptist church, and stealing the attention away from a bunch of kids who have to work their butts off just to do the stuff we sometimes take for granted everyday, definitely is a classless move.
  6. I could've sworn they said they weren't changing the color, just the design.
  7. Deng...that sucks for them.
  8. I honestly don't remember where I heard this, but someone told me a few months ago that an old fraternity on campus (from a good while back) donated a big statue of an eagle in flight, and that the team would touch it on the way out of the locker room. I may be a little off on the exact details, but that was the general idea of what I was told...
  9. Intersting. Other than a couple spurts of possession from Canada, I thought we pretty much controlled the game. There were a couple dangerous moments that Canada didn't finish, but at the same time, we didn't finish a couple chances either. Either way, it is nice to start off with a 2-0 win. Go USA!
  10. Good first half from the USA. Definitely showing signs of life after the beating from Spain. Hopefully we can put 1-2 more in the net in the second half. This is most likely the toughest game of the group, so I can't complain.
  11. I had a brain fart in my first post...Panama vs. Guadaloupe are playing right now instead of after the USA vs. Canada. Panama is winnnig 3-1 in the 75th minute. This also may delay the USA game a bit, and on the Fox Soccer Channel pre-game they said the USA and Canada would be forced to warm up in their locker rooms.
  12. Pre-game is on now...I wish I had Fox Soccer Channel HD . Stupid Charter cable.
  13. Dempsey to Arsenal would be fantastic. We need someone to break into the EPL big 4 (other than a goalie). Javier Heranandez being a star at Manchester United without an American in the big 4 doesn't sit well with me. EDIT: If I could go back in time I would do it myself.
  14. Although I pretty much agree with you as far as this particular situation goes, that line of thought is a very, very slippery slope.
  15. I actually think we need to play our 100% first team tonight to make a statement (especially to ourselves) after that embarassment against Spain. This will be the toughest game of the group. The last group game against Guadeloupe should give us a good chance to rest Donovan and Dempsey before the knockout round.
  16. I know we have some soccer fans on here, so I figured I'd get a thread started. The USA plays their first group C game tonight against Canada. It is at 7:00pm on Fox Soccer Channel. The other two group C teams, Panama and Guadaloupe, play right after. Canada claims to have its strongest team ever, so the game should be interesting. Here are the other results so far: Group A: Mexico 5-0 El Salvador Costa Rica 5-0 Cuba Group B: Jamaica 4-0 Grenada Honduras 0-0 Guatemala The top two teams from each group, and the two highest rated third place teams move on to the quarterfinals. From there it is single elimimination. Go USA!!!!!
  17. I'm sure the WKU fans would welcome her with open arms...
  18. It actually seats a little over 10,000...that doesn't change your point though.
  19. I don't particularly think money is all that important to Mccarney, but for most people, it would be hard to turn down a $1 million per year raise.
  20. I went and measured Fouts today, and it is exactly 90ft. from the sideline to the stands. Not sure how that might change your numbers.... For perspective, the first 25 feet is from the sideline to the concrete strip right where the turf ends. The next 25 feet is from that strip to the inside of the 7th lane of the track. The next 25 feet is from the inside of the 7th land to the middle of the drain just by the neon green line you drew. And it is 15 feet from there to the field level wall. The field level wall at Fouts is 2ft high.
  21. Offers from North Texas and Wake Forest according to Rivals.
  22. That's really awesome! That's about all I can say.
  23. The video board dimensions that Brett was given have to be wrong. 49 X 25 puts us at 1225 SF, which isn't the third biggest in Texas. We need to get above 1500 SF to pass SMU for third place. He did say it was just an off the top of the head number, but most everyone in the athletic department has been saying for months now it would be the third biggest. Even if it is only 1225 SF though, that is still really, really big.
  24. The three should be USA, Texas, and the Mean Green flag with the eagle, or the official green North Texas flag.
  25. I do not know the actual distances, but from the looks of it they could have moved it up in between 5-10 yeards to that yellow line behind the bench. I think this is coming across as complaining, but I'm just pointing out an observation. Look at this picture of Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. They seem to have their sideline seats about where the back white line is in the Mean Green Stadium sideline picture. The sideline seats appear to start anywhere from 6-8 feet high.
