  1. FIU Stadium looks like it cost about as much as a pair of NT general admission season tickets...
  2. I like the one about Syracuse's stadium. The AC company Carrier has the naming rights, but the building doesn't even have air conditioning.
  3. Darn right! No reason not to include FAU in the fun.
  4. I have a really good feeling about the game tomorrow (although I do realize I may have cultivated it myself after years of drinking green kool-aid), and I think we will get the W. NT - 28 FIU - 24
  5. Every home game that the women play will be against teams from "superior" (at least perception) conferences. The Summit league may be an equal with the SBC in womens basketball, but Oral Roberts has a heck of a team. This is great scheduling by Karen Aston and the Athletic Department!
  6. Wait until they get their butts kicked a few times and 50k people will not be showing up. Plus, the AlamoDome may be big, but it's a piece of crap.
  7. So far this year, NT sports teams have a combined 5-1-1 record!

  8. I think I'm going to be watching on campus at the Syndicate...should be a good turn out there. If they were letting people onto the field at Apogee (to get a more comfortable views of the jumbotron) I would be there in a second.
  9. Not necessarily. Being ranked #68 in the state of Texas is pretty low, but rankings are not everything. That's why I said that I "trust the coaching staff sees something special". I doubt they would fill these scholarships so early unless they thought the guys were the right fit, it just contrasts a lot with the recruiting class we had last year. That does not mean these guys can't ball.
  10. So, after hearing what people are saying about him, it seems like he is a Sergio Kerusch (WKU)type player. If he turns out to be a player like that I'll be pretty excited.
  11. It is interesting that we have taken two guys that are not highly regarded so early. I trust that the coaching staff sees something special in these guys.
  12. Flyer and Plumm are masters of the interwebs.
  13. What if you are a sleeze bag no matter what color your skin is if you have a dog fighting operation? Oh wait, you are.
  14. Previous season ticket holders have until a certain date to renew (I'm not sure what it is, I haven't seen the renewal pack yet). Before that date, you can purchase season tickets as long as they are not already either owned by someone else, or waiting for renewal.
  15. The first expansion will be adding an upper deck to the student side (and hopefully suites in between like at KSU). For what it's worth though, the opposing locker room is already directly under the stands.
  16. It is just under 5k seats. Obviously, we would be putting seats directly where it is, but to close off the endzone (without it looking stupid) the wing will need to go. Another option would be to put in an enzone "complex" like TCU did with some suites and stuff. I'm just saying that I don't think the wing will stick for all that long if there is a need for more seats.
  17. Dealing with their fans is reason enough to not want to be in a conference with them. They would be like the Lafayette fans on steroids. EDIT: That statement actually only applies to UTSA.
  18. I have to disagree...if everything goes the way we all want it to, eventually we are going to need that endzone closed off. For aestetic purposes, that will mean the wingzone will need to be removed so the entire endzone will be concrete (the wingzone also is steeper than the rest of the stands). I do think though with the money that we will hopefully have, something very cool can be done in that endzone.
  19. ....or you could just bring in like 10 flasks full of beer....that's a much more inefficient way to accomplish the object though...
  20. Yep. I have heard that in one off-season it can be expanded to a capacity of 50k...and that is just by adding onto the student side. That does no count any tweaks that could be made to the endzone seating (which if all goes well will probably involve the removal of the wing to enclose the bowl).
  21. People need to quit acting like the 50k expansion number being thrown around is some upper ceiling that we can't break through. If we are selling out the stadium, the money will be there to expand it to whatever the heck we want. The stadium could be 80k if we needed it to be. All we would need to do is add upper decks all around, and enclose the bowl by the athletic center...would that cost a lot of money? Hell Yeah, but if demand warrants it, we would have the money. I think the "image" of a full stadium that is of high quality is much more important at this point than having a 40k seat stadium with 10k empty seats. Plus, I may have missed it, but where are the people mentioning the shortsightedness of SMU building a 32k seat stadium only expandable to 45k...
  22. So, assuming he is eligible to play this year, would he only have 1 year of eligibility left?
  23. Home opener tomorrow against UTA.
  24. I believe there are 8,100 student seats, and around 4,900 seats in the wing. Both of those numbers were given by people in the athletic department. I don't know if those are exact, but they should be close.
  25. I think your best bet would be to get tickets from the UH athletic department and sit with your own kind....hope you enjoy the stadium.
