  1. In principle the bar should be a victory. In reality I'll be satisfied if we do some good things and learn from it. I'm not worried about the final score this week either. Worrying about the scores starts with the Indiana game.
  2. Naw man, they have computers.
  3. I hope they are ready for the beat down their team is going to get on Saturday.
  4. I can't believe it's here either. Most people I've talked to seem to agree that today is not about the result, but about the stadium, and the direction the program is moving. Of course, if we win, the attendance all year is going to be nuts (it may be regardless). I'm so glad Mccarney talked to every orientation group to get the Freshmen excited, and the stadium is doing a great job pulling back people who never gave a darn about NT athletics and getting them interested.
  5. The last 3500 of them had to go to the ticket office...The booth in the union was only Tuesday and Wednesday.
  6. I'll be there with as many fraternity brothers as I can drag with me...the facebook event says 105 are attending right now. If even half of those people who up, we should have a good student crowd to add a bit to the atmosphere...Also, hopefully a lot of people that are going to the pep rally anyway will head over a bit early to catch some soccer.
  7. Since when was a 10 minute walk that big of a deal? Is Denton just full of fatties? The students certainly don't seem to mind with how many tickets they are buying. Plus, the pedestrian bridge will help next season.
  8. This also means we have 1 more scholarship to give for 2012...you know...hopefully we make it past the semester break...
  9. 1. Because demand is likely to be high. 2. Because it puts a "value" on the ticket when you have on physically in your hand.
  10. HoopManX - Confirming Stereotypes Since 2011.
  11. I wouldn't worry about the numbers. 2,000 is great for the first day. I expect close to half of students will end up at the gate on game day thinking they can just swipe their ID. Once we do this a couple of times, the students will get in the habit of getting their tickets early in the week.
  12. I disagree with this...I think they wanted to run the score up, and I never until the very end felt like they quit trying. The offense was terrible, but I think after some adjustments we played alright defensively for the last three quarters.
  13. I was using the football stadium as the generational starting point, so in my example, the current freshmen are the "first generation". You are right though, the students during the Dickey years have certainly helped attendance in recent years.
  14. Everyone needs to relax. We don't have to go 8-4 this year to make a statement...4-8 will get that done, considering we have a young team and have not won that many games since 2004. I see no reason to think that we did all of this "too late". The people that decide on these things are not the media, or morons on fan boards not named GMG.com. What will happen is these conferences will follow the money. So call up all your old buddies from college and don't leave them alone until they come to a game, or buy season tickets. Let them know about our basketball recruiting class and drag them to one of those games too. Ask them if they have heard about our awesome women's soccer team . We (the fans) still control a lot of what is going to happen. This current generation of NT students is not going to be the problem...they all went to the stadium during orientation, and are still just as pumped up about the game Saturday despite what happened last Thursday. We don't really have time for them to grow up and buy season tickets though...the 100k alumni in the DFW area are going to have to step up and buy us a little more time until the first generation of "new NT students" graduates. #rantover.
  15. I saw this a little bit earlier and was absolutely shocked, mostly because he was only 35 years old. He always seemed like a class act as a player, and when he worked in the FCD front office. FCD has an off week, so he was on vacation with his family in Florida. This is just really sad.
  16. You can have your numbers...I'll keep my kool-aid.
  17. Is it just my computer messing up, or is he in dire need of paragraphs?
  18. Feel free to call me crazy here, but I think the 2-4 year range should be for winning SBC Championships and big time OOC games. There is ZERO reason in my mind why this team (with the coaching staff we have) should not be able to play above their potential and win at least 4 games this year and show that we are headed in the right direction. Even with the terrible game we played at FIU, with a little improvement there are still 6-7 winnable games this year IMO.
  19. I think the Ticket Office has some available. Seeing as how the GA tickets are only $20, I don't think you are going to be able to get them for much cheaper anywhere else.
  20. All you need is an internet connection and an HDMI cable, and you can watch it on a TV...although you should be at the game if you live within 1,000 miles of Denton.
  21. I'm thinking about making the trip to Waco for the game Sunday. Should be a good one, and I've never been to a soccer away game other than SMU.
  22. Return game @ Houston is on 10/6/2012.
  23. This is great news! SMU also dropped out of the Central Region top 10. Which begs the question...Why is SMU in the Central Region, and NT in the South Region???
  24. Wow....and we thought Case Keenum got lucky with extra eligibility....
