  1. I legitimately wonder what would happen to our attendance if we made it into the top 25 (not saying that will happen this year…not impossible but would probably require largely running the table in conference). Do we get up into the 7,000 to 8,000 range if that happens? Or does it largely remain unchanged.
  2. I may just be wearing green tinted glasses but NT +3 still feels like stealing money.
  3. A big positive of the 2:30 kick time will be the temperature. And this weather is just about as good as you can ask for in late December. Hopefully the weather will sway those still on the fence about attending.
  4. 6-37 will forever be etched into my brain.
  5. I’m going to play devils advocate on this (partially). There is certainly something to be said about his coaching in affluent districts with significant resources, but the “all players funneling in” argument really doesn’t work. That’s what the classifications are for. And Westlake is somewhere (if I counted right) around the 110th largest school in the 6A classification.
  6. In an alternate universe Todd Dodge leaves all his SLC coaches behind, hires a legitimate college coaching staff and has wild amounts of success at North Texas.
  7. Should be fun. A hair longer on the drive than ideal, but it’s basically like a day trip to Houston, so doable.
  8. I wonder if there’s a possibility for a Jim Harbaigh-like contract amendment.
  9. I don’t believe there’s been any with a team in the playing in their home market and largest alumni base (though it was close for ULL who had a very disappointing turnout).
  10. Big win by our future AAC brethren!
  11. I’m guessing you had a pretty good time???
  12. Not a carbon copy but similar enough situations IMO. Both involved not finishing a game. The men had a little bit longer period to do it over. In any event, Wichita State is now 9-2. I highly doubt this game defines the season.
  13. 37
  14. The number one rule of down votes is not to talk about down votes. Oh wait. Oops.
  15. I’ll refer you to the Buffalo game.
  16. Been there for all 8 of their FCS national titles. Amazing atmosphere. Unfortunately it appears they bring more fans to Frisco than we will.
  17. Brett Vito - captain of the bandwagon since we beat Rice.
  18. That’s awesome! Safe travels and being home a W.
  19. Funny. If this were the men’s team people would be clamoring to defend them and say how good the team we lost to is and that it’s actually a good loss that the team will learn from.
  20. Hopefully this is not revisionist history, but It largely died when the people helping run it started graduating in the 2011-2012 time frame and years subsequent. It was weakened by that and totally done in by the Benford era. With that said I don’t know why SGA and NT Athletics (which undoubtedly provided support) have not tried to resurrect it.
  21. Our expectations are embarrassingly low. Everyone thinking 13-16k is fine is willfully ignoring that this is a game in our home market, for many of us considerably closer than even going to a game in Denton. There are zero excuses. None.
  22. I agree there may be some generational factors at play as well, that are exacerbated by our culture of general apathy. Whenever talking about younger generations though it always feels like borderline “old man yelling at clouds” territory. (I’m in my early 30s).
  23. Announced attendance or actual? We averaged an announced attendance of 4,006 in 2011-2012. It took Jones the better part of a decade to build and there was significant support from SGA (the Pit Crew, an idea that has truly inexplicably not been brought back) and general support from Athletics as well (despite one individual who shall remain unnamed having outright disdain for anyone who tried to supplement promotion efforts by the athletic department).
  24. Agree. And it does not appear that ANY end line seats have been sold either. Unless I missed something. If there were actually only 3,000 seats left I’d say that’s reasonably good at this stage.
