NBC 5 just did a story on this. They interviewed Texas fans that said they were not happy about Denton being the OU headquarters...no mention of how NT fans might feel.

To get there we are going to have to win at least 1 conference road game. If we can go 5-3 in conference, I think you will see us in a bowl game. That is a huge IF, but we don't necessarily have to beat Tulsa. They are the hardest game left on our schedule.

If we get to 6 wins, I think we will end up in a bowl somewhere, because after the conference champion, the bowl games get to pick whoever they want from the SBC who is bowl eligible. Getting to six wins won't be easy at all though, but it is possibe.

NT was my childhood team, so I admittedly do not know what being in a situation like yours is like, but the way I look at it is that you should root for where you come from, which is NT. That doesn't mean you should root against TCU all the time, but if the two teams are playing each other, your allegiance should revert to the degree (or future degree) on your wall.

I'll be surprised if we lose again at home this year...the away games are going to be much, much tougher.

Call me crazy, but if you are repping another school shirt in a NT classroom I think you deserve to be called out.

No, they see it as a big, acre(s) wide party. The house wouldn't do that for them or provide the same atmosphere...

As a former Greek, I know that many Greeks see tailgaiting as a huge party, and the reason they are out there has nothing to do with the game. It is stupid, but that is the mindset of the people standing out on the hill all game. Some fraternities are worse than others, and I think the some of the sororities do a better job supporting NT than some of the fraternities. A couple of the frats do a very good job, and some of them are awful. Thankfully, it seems the tide seems to be turning in our favor, it is just going to take time.

Once we get a couple more games into the conference season (and things start shaping up), I'll be posting a little more analysis. Through two games for everyone, here are the conference records: (2-0): North Texas, Denver, South Alabama, Troy, FIU (1-1): Arkansas State, UALR (0-2): MTSU, WKU, Louisiana-Lafayette, ULM, FAU Keep in mind, everyone has 9 conference games left, so this is very early, but it is exciting that it is getting rolling!

Yeah...I was about to go back and edit my post saying it was a dumb question, but you already got to it, haha. I misread it as ALDS...I think you are right that it would put a dent in our attendance. People go crazy for playoff baseball down here...

Well, for the next game you can expect everyone that was there to be back, plus some that are pissed off that they missed the victory. If we beat FAU you can count on some more. It is going to take a little time to build. The fact that we have not won more than 4 games in a whole season since 2004, and especially haven't won home games has really worn out the casual fanbase, including many students. It is changing though.

Well...that will make things a little tougher.

I may not be thinking about it the right way, but I don't think a big name opponent is going to draw many more fans. People are showing up right now to see UTSA, and do not care who the other team is. The numbers will drop as losses pile up over the next two years, but they could be playing FBS teams right now, and I think the numbers would still be around 30k.

I would actually be for adding Texas State right now because we have history with them, and it would be a good rivalry. UTSA doesn't have history....as a football team. I am fine with not adding either, but if I had to pick one, it would be Texas State without a doubt.

The culture is seriously changing, but these things take time to feel the effect of. I think it will take a couple more freshman classes, but the percentage of apathetic hippies going to NT is beginning to decrease. Now if we can just get rid of all the Big 12 T-shirt fans we will be in great shape.
