How is this not getting screwed over? Am I making something up in my mind, or does this not greatly affect recruiting for next year as well?

I really don't think I've ever been this pissed at the NCAA. There was ZERO reason for them to deny this. I thought this was a formality. I hope NT fights this, or at least takes a couple shots at the NCAA. Better that than to just bend over and take it.

Statement from the NCAA: "We would love to give Justin Patton eligibility, but there was an issue with the appeal itself. On the "Appelant" line was written the words, "University of North Texas". We request that you fix this problem or we will be forced to deny Roger Franklin eligibiility as well. Nope. Only meeting between the two teams this year was a 1-0 NT loss in Miami.

FIU advances with a 3-1 win over Denver. Gotta hand it to Denver, they never quit, even to the very end. The amount of pressure they were putting on the FIU defense was unreal. Hopefully it tired them out a little bit, but then again, the teams have an off day tomorrow to recover.

FIU given a penalty kick and they convert. 3-1 FIU.

2-1 FIU with about 18' left. I'd rather play FIU. They are pretty equal with Denver, but we would have the "revenge" factor against FIU, whereas Denver would have it against us. We have to get by WKU first though.

Why are we just giving this Pomeroy guy a free pass? Sure, he may not have the best info at his fingertips yet, but he is a great statistician with skins on the wall. He should be able to get the accurate predictions now with what he has.

Semifinals are set: 4pm - (3)Denver vs. (2)Florida Internatinal 7pm - (1)North Texas vs. (4)Western Kentucky

I would say it is pretty close to a toss up. We beat MTSU more handily, but that was on a Sunday after MTSU had played in Denver the Friday night before. Also, MTSU does not lose much at home. If I had to pick who to play, I'd pick WKU. WKU is up 1-0 at halftime.

I didn't really see anything "homerish" about his statement. If you take away the wing, expand to 50k+, I think it could compete with the best of them. The perception of the stadium is what it is because of the campus it sits on and the team that plays in it. Hopefully that perception will soon change...it also needs to be full.

That sounds just a tad arrogant if you are assuming we would never be able to compete against the top tier CUSA teams...that may not be what you mean, but thats how I interpret that statement.
