  1. I could be wrong, but I did not notice any other school with 3 players there.
  2. Third game in 6 days, against a team tied for 11th in the mid-major top 25. The team they are tied with is Oral Roberts, who handed NT their worst loss of the year by 10 points at the Super Pit. The team may not have gotten a win last night against Tulane, but they played their butts off...hopefully fatigue isn't too big of an issue. Tulane had several days more rest than NT last night, and Missouri State will be at home with an extra day of rest on NT tomorrow. MSU does appear beatable...their last outing was a 23 point loss to Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
  3. Just got home from the game. Tulane is a very good team, and showed it defensively. They also had some height on us. NT showed they can hang with a very good team though, and on a better shooting night we could have won. The difference in the game was the 9-0 run (3 straight 3-pointers) that took the Tulane lead from 6-15. The ball just wasn't going in the hoop tonight for us, but the team played their butts off. Tulane had a crazy good freshman from the Metroplex. Hopefully those types of players will come play for Coach Aston in the future.
  4. I'll be very satisfied overjoyed if we win one out of the next three: Tulane (just outside the top 25) @ Missouri State (very high in the mid-major top 25...beat Oral Roberts) @ Texas (just inside the top 25) Karen Aston does not have an easy schedule for her first year, and she is doing pretty darn well. Go Mean Green!
  5. Let's just stick with George and Hank. Steven Bartolotta is actually very good at what he does as well.
  6. I do not feel as though the request of law enforcement for the protesters to move a few feet in any way infringed on their right to peacably protest, so I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  7. The police were in an uncomfortable location with respect to where the protesters were. That is why they were being asked to move. It has nothing to do with whether or not they had a right to protest, and their right was not taken away by the police officers, those people in that situation lost it by failing to adhere to a simple and reasonable request from a law enforcement official.
  8. "Wonderfully weird" is one way to put it...I did love the video though.
  9. People keep blabbering about police brutality and it is ridiculous. If the police told them to move (which they did) and the people didn't move, they deserved the pepper spray 100%. If they had listened to the cops, they would not have been pepper sprayed. Simple as that. If a police officer tells you to do something, just do it.
  10. Tulane is receiving votes for the AP top 25. They currently are in 35th place. They will be the highest ranked team we have played so far this year.
  11. Tipoff is at 7:30pm on Friday. Tip was moved back to accomodate the football banquet. NT is 7-2 and will be coming off a huge win against Alabama. The Mean Green will only have 48 hours of rest though. Tulane will be well rested and is probably an equal, if not a little better than Alabama. Tulane knocked off a #20 ranked LSU team earlier this year. This team needs a big crowd Friday. Hopefully everyone at the football banquet will mosey on over to the Super Pit for the game...Surely they will mention it at the banquet.
  12. Brian Boyer from Arkansas State is on the voting panel, but he is the only one.
  13. Women's Mid Major Top 25 I know people generally don't like the mid-major label, but it's nice to see that the turn around is not going unnoticed by outsiders. Sun Belt Teams: #18 - Middle Tennessee #20 - Denver #28 - North Texas #35 - UALR
  14. By the way...I hope our bowl game is before December 21...
  15. I know this season just ended, but has anyone heard anything. The schedule poster that someone posted a picture of on here says: @ LSU Texas Southern @ Kansas State @ Houston I know at one point it was announced that South Alabama would be playing here next year, but that it was unknown whether they would take the place of another SBC team, or whether they would take the place of Texas Southern or one of the other OOC games. I never saw anything official, but there was discussion that either NT or Houston pulled out of the game next year. Also, it had been rumored that we were trying to get out of one of the money games to get a sixth home game...which would be embarassing if we didn't. If USA comes to town, we need to drop Texas Southern because only one of those games would count for bowl eligibility...
  16. Oregon State beat Rice, so our wins were over the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
  17. TAMU - CC - 58 North Texas - 72 Final. North Texas wins the Gene Hackerman Invitational and moves their record to 6-2.
  18. 69-53 NT with 3:50 left.
  19. 67-50 NT with just over 6:00 left in the game.
  20. I would take a 20 point win in a heartbeat.
  21. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm....How about Soccer?
  22. This will be the championship game of the Gene Hackerman Invitational hosted by Rice. Here is how the teams got there: North Texas 60-53 Oregon State Texas A&M-CC 64-61 Rice Rice was heavily favored, but managed to lose at home. TAMU-CC is very beatable. Tip-off is at 7pm tomorrow in Houston.
  23. Way to go Ladies! Wow! Huge win!
  24. Trouble finding a fourth team is the only explanation that makes sense to me.
  25. I think tomorrow will be a good measuring stick as well. Columbia is a hell of a lot better than an NAIA team.
