If he is successful, he will be gone pretty quick because ASU won't be able to pay him enough to keep him. It sounds like the situation at Auburn was deteriorating and he wanted out. Success will bring better job offers than Vandy. If he is not successful, it will be funny watching ASU try and scrounge up the money to buy out the contract.

Never, in any universe, under any circumstance...ever should a game against a sun belt team be considered a sure loss. They can come to Apogee next year and go home bruised up with a big fat "L". I like the $$$ committment they have shown, but this is far from a sure thing slam dunk hire.

After I posted that, a couple people have said that USA will count as an FBS win next year, so all wins would count toward bowl eligibility. 8-4 would be great though.

Since South Alabama counts as an FBS win next year, I don't care about playing both them, and Texas Southern...it also gets us out of a game against FIU...All I know is the game TBD better be at home...Anything short of 6 home games at Apogee is absurd.

Those games don't have to be played if we fill our own stadium...screw Texas. I think we need to start the policy of only scheduling teams who will give us a return game at Apogee. If they won't, screw it, we'll play someone else.

If Canales is hired, I expect a complete meltdown within the ASU fanbase. Freeze will not be easy to follow for anyone.

I would take that in a heartbeat. If we never play Texas or Oklahoma or LSU again that would be fine with me. It is a podunk schedule that got Lafayette 8 wins this year, and all of those games above are winnable.

So, this little graphic confirms TSU, and LSU has been confirmed by Dan McCarney. By process of elimination, the SBC Schedule will be: @ ULM @ WKU @ MTSU @ FAU USA ULL Troy ASU So that leaves the Houston and Kansas State games in doubt. I've heard nothing of the K-State game being changed, but did see somewhere (in fact it may have been posted on here) that Texas State has taken our place on the Houston schedule next year. If that is the case, there needs to be a sixth home game regardless of the cost.

I actually had a blast in Manhattan, KS a few years ago when NT played up there...It's a hell of a lot better than Monroe, LA.

I actually disagree with this. I think we should invite La Tech and either UTSA/Texas State. We only need two since USA will be joining the conference soon. Adding an FCS school is worth it if it can for the first time ever give us the chance at a true rival in the state of Texas.

Lost by 11...not terrible under the circumstances...particularly our short rest and playing on the road. For perspective, Missouri State beat Oral Roberts in tulsa by 6-7 points. ORU beat NT by 10 in Denton. NT loses by 11 on the road to MSU on short rest. I think the team is improving. Now the team gets a bit of a break, and its off to Austin to play the longhorns.

Tired legs (3 games in 5 days) + travel + good opponent = no bueno. NT down 10-0.

FIU plays a home game Saturday and a road game Sunday? I know UTA played @ Baylor the night after they played us, but at least that was just a road trip...

There may not have been 3300 people there, but I think it was comprable to announced crowds of the same size in the past.

We need Norris now. It would have been nice if Robinson could have redshirted, but he will just have to learn on the job. Neither of them are going to redshirt for their sophomore seasons after playing as freshmen.
