  1. +1 for optimism.
  2. I'm sayint that I believe 100% if everyone had done their job and monitored everything they should have that Chris and Jordan would still be eligible. There is a whole group of people that are employed for the sole reason of keeping these athletes eligible. The resources and tutors are there whenver the athletes need them. I'm trying not to speculate, but this situation just screams that someone was not paying attention and it was too late to fix it.
  3. I have no doubt its an honest question, but even thinking about that makes my head want to explode.
  4. Of course Mike Doocy mentions this on Fox 4 Sports...F.M.L.
  5. I think this is frustrating because it has happened right when we were building up steam...not just for the basketball season, but for the basketball program as a whole. I don't see how we do not lose scholarships for this, but am not an expert on how the NCAA decides on such things. Unfortunatly, for the casual fans, this takes a lot of the steam out of the season. Not sure how the students react, but it probably won't be good either. I just hope this does not discourage the remaining players. They have a chance to step up and really be legendary.
  6. Hmm...18-year old kids that do not get paid, or older men and women who make a generous salary...seems like the same thing to me. Plus, I do not think anyone is bashing them. The questions being asked are reasonable.
  7. I'm not sure my feelings would be any different than they are right now when TWO of our star players do not make grades. If there was not an entire department of full time staffers and muiltiple student tutors, maybe, just maybe, I would put this all on Chris and Jordan. What makes me really uneasy is the thought that this whole situation caught the athletic department off guard.
  8. Will we lose scholarships for this? Like ULM.
  9. Agreed. It is going to be much, much harder now, but especially with Tony on the floor, I think we can beat anyone in the Sun Belt on any given night. If we can somehow muster a bye for Hot Springs that would be awesome, but it is going to be very difficult.
  10. While there is certainly something to be said for personal responsibility, I think much of the blame falls on the epic fail and lack of oversight from the Athletic Department. We have people employed whose WHOLE FREAKIN JOB is working with these kids to keep them eligible and make sure they make their grades. These kids are obvilously not dumb, but they are freshman in college. They should have had someone looking over their shoulder the entire time.
  11. Yeah...I'll admit to just looking at his rivals profile and not reading the article...I think we still take him if he wants to come. He does seem a little slow for a 4* athlete though. Thought that was interesting.
  12. If they pick up another loss we need it to be against a Sun Belt team. They must lose against someone else for us to control our own destiny.
  13. Recruited by Dan McCarney at Florida. This would be fantastic.
  14. I wonder if the coaches already know Walling is going to pick SMU? Either that or we want another O-lineman in the class. Either way, the Denton over Monroe decision is a no-brainer.
  15. That makes sense. The media guide only uses the AP poll.
  16. I hear the shrubbery in Memphis is transfere nice. EDIT: censorship strikes again...
  17. How about #13 pencils?
  18. The media guide does not show the 1976 ASU game as being against a ranked team, and the crowd (which would be the 8th largest in history) is not on the list. You are right about the WTSU crowd, but according to the media guide they were not ranked at the time. I probably trust you more than the media guide though.
  19. I would generally agree with you, but the students seem a little more engaged this year....we wouldn't have the visiting fans though.
  20. NT had 9,100 for #1 DePaul on 12/16/1980. NT lost 92-86. For you sticklers out there, it was technically NTSU at the time. Since then, NT has played four ranked opponents at home, for which I cannot find attendance numbers. #9 Memphis on 2/14/1983. 80-63 Loss. #14 Louisiana Tech on 2/9/1985. 90-72 Loss. #23 Oklahoma State on 11/28/1989. 94-66 Loss. #25 Tulsa on 12/30/1999. 113-77 Loss. The last time NT beat a ranked opponent: 2/27/1971 at #15 Louisville by a score of 79-73. The last time NT beat a ranked opponent at home: 2/10/1970 vs. #11 Drake by a score of 93-81.
  21. Ted Hutton hasn't seen NT play...just for clarification.
  22. As much as I hate the Sun Belt with everything in me, I think it is undeniable that the conference is at least improving.
