  1. EDIT: I hope these kids prove everyone wrong.
  2. So this is three committments in a row with only D2 offers or below? I believe we have good coaches, but people need to be realistic that this recruiting season has been a little on the disappointing side.
  3. Mean Green win! 68-54.
  4. 55-39 NT. 7:59 left.
  5. 50-35 NT. 11:50 left in the game.
  6. It is halftime right now. NT up by about 10. Thought we should get a game thread going.
  7. Any two 3* recruits could make everything better.

  8. Yep...especially the ones that are going to schools we have no business losing out too, even in our current, apparently dire situation. We have to hope we pull a couple big ones in the end and that the diamonds in the rough pan out. According to Vito it sounds like we are trying hard to hang on to Walling. That would make a pretty big statement if we could sway him back.
  9. How many times have we said we don't want the freakin attention from the media. Go cover someone else for the next few months.
  10. I'm saying he is going to be a top draft pick whenever he goes, so when that actually happens is irrelevant, and secondly, that winning an NCAA tournament game for the first time in school history, preferably with a 5* recruit and NBA lottery pick on the team would be invaluable for the program.
  11. How many scholarships will we have to give in 2013? Will it be 4 minimum? (Niko, Walton, Holmen, Franklin), with Mitchell's scholarship potentially coming open after either this year or next year.
  12. Yeah, that game was epic. I think Alysha Clark from MTSU put up like 52 points.
  13. Saying all of this literally makes me want to throw up, but here it goes: Why are we allowed to make the excuse that it is going to take awhile when WKU (who was pathetic before this year), Lafayette (who was mediocre for years as well before this year), ASU (who may have the best class of all of them), and FIU (who has 2 winning seasons in school history, but almost 20 3* recruits) are all blowing us out of the water, at least on paper. Now, I do not think this class is bad, in fact it has some good players with a few spots to go, but I do not see a reason why it should be accepted as just our situation that we are losing recruits to lesser schools than other SBC schools are stealing recruits away from. I may get bombarded with -1's, but I think it is a legitimate statement. I'm not cricizing our recruits, just saying that there should be no excuses anymore...our investment in facilities (that are more than top notch), and the investment in coaching (which is significant), as well as the improving university image should offset the rest.
  14. I get that, and I certainly don't expect sell outs (although it would be really cool if a school of our size could fill every venue for every sport). I just do not get the "Oh, it's womens basketball" argument. It's all NT to me. I guess its just a different way of looking at it.
  15. I agree that JJ has done a good job. Which one is actually the best coach is not the important part of my point. My point is that I don't think Coach Aston is getting even close to as much support as a coach of her caliber (that is being evidenced by this turnaround) deserves. EDIT: The reason for which appears to be the dismissive attitude toward women's basketball by a lot of people.
  16. I'm surprised how many people feel this way. Karen Aston is arguably the most qualified, and best coach we have working for NT athletics. The only other two that even have an argument I think are Sujay Lama, and John Hedlund, who has never had a losing season (although some feel he may have reached his peak). People need to get over this attitude and support her team, because what she has done with a team that won 5 games last year is unbelievable. The lack of support her team gets frustrates me to no end. My response has nothing to do with the event, but rather the general attitude towards women's basketball that some have.
  17. Yeah, but we could average like 40k if we wanted to...with that we would start to win eventually.
  18. I'd replace ULM with UTSA and replace Laffyette with Southern Miss.
  19. I don't know man...I think I'd trade an MTSU at large bid and marry Gus Malzahns crazy a$$ wife if it meant we beat a ranked team at home. EDIT: Of course if we could only win one or the other, I'd pick the SBC title game. I'd love both.
  20. When I was in high school Colleyville Covenant had a great team...not sure how they are now. If his 40 speed is legit though, I'd offer immediately. We will find some way to use that speed.
  21. I can't imagine he would go to Kent State if we offered...it will be interesting to see if UCLA sends an offer his way...I know its not all about stars, but with what other Sun Belt schools are doing, we are pretty close to the bottom. It would be nice to add another 3* recruit.
