82' - NT Goal!! Michelle Young controls a long cross field pass, does a step over ball fake at the corner of the box, and slams it home over the Houston GK from 16 yards out.

73' - NT really pressing now. One shot cleared of the line by a UH player, another punched away by the GK.

68' - Houston Goal. Ball bounced around in the box and fell to the feet of a Houston player who slotted it in to the corner. NT 1-1 UH.

Halftime. 1-0 NT.

11' - NT Goal! Kelsey Hodges bends it in direct off a free kick from the corner of the box. 1-0 NT.

I will try to post some updates in this thread from the game for those of you that are interested. NT beat UH 1-0 last year at Roberstson Stadium. Go Mean Green!

North Texas (2-0-0) @ Sam Houston State (1-1-0) 7:00pm - Hunstville, TX Hopefully some of our Houston area alumni decide to make the short trip up to support the ladies. SHSU so far this year has a 1-0 win over Prairie View A&M, and a 1-0 loss to Texas State. NT beat SHSU 3-1 at home last year, but fell 1-0 in OT the year before in a game that was an absolute downpour for the full 90 minutes and more. If the ladies can take care of business, they will be undefeated heading into the home opener against UH on Sunday. Go Mean Green!

Awesome work by the athletic department! I admit to being critical of them at times, but raising this kind of money in this time period is very impressive. Also, if you read between the lines here, it shows that people are more than willing to give substantial amounts of money to successful programs. I know we can get in to the chicken/egg argument, but If the football team can put up 7-8 wins and a bowl game this year, I can't wait to see what that does for fundraising in general (and not just athletics). This pissing match over who is the most tolerant reminds me of people who are arrogant about their humility...by the way, I'm way more tolerant than all you fools.

The best option would be to not have a game on a Tuesday night at 8:30. Exposure on ESPN is great, but not when the few people actually watching are looking at an empty stadium. I hope I'm wrong, but for this game to be well attended, we are going to need a winning record going in to it. That is the reality of our fanbase at this point.

Apparently the definition of intolerance is when someone has a different opinion than you do.

This has happened before, and the soccer team has still gotten a good crowd. i would wish the athletic department would put a little more care into avoiding conflicts like that, but it may be inevitable.

Apparently the goal was a free kick from near midfield and the keeper got caught off her line and it just sailed in over her head. Missouri State beat UALR 5-0 on Friday night. Go Mean Green! One more road game @ SHSU before the home opener against Houston a week from today.

Other than FIU and NT I hope the sun belt gets destroyed in every game they play in every sport this year (except for RPI help in basketball). This is especially true when CUSA schools are playing the Sun Belt. The Sun Belt is not our conference; CUSA is.

What a ridiculous decision. Not only is this tourney on the far edge of the conference, but its not even close. Its a 10 hour drive just from Dallas...think how ECU and Charlotte will feel. And then there's the added expense of having to get a passport.

I should have been more clear. I thought I read somewhere that Benson wanted it in Biloxi ASAP, but that the Hot Springs contract may prevent that. I'm just glad that it is there one more year...after that, I don't care if they even have a SBC tournament.

I'm thinking there is still hope for 2013. 2014 probably more likely, but it will move quickly.

It is particularly funny to read the Troy fans bashing NT and the move to CUSA. Currently, their overall athletic program is embarassing...even worse than ULM.
