I tried to find historical NET/RPI rankings by date but was unsuccessful. This has to be the first matchup at the Super Pit with a combined ranking below 100 in a long time.

He has SMU winning the AAC tournament. Which seems highly speculative. But I guess most of the bracket is at this point.

If North Texas (the university in conjunction with Athletics) wanted to do this the right way, the would spend about $1 million of this project adding seating and amenities to the Snake Pit. Making it around a 3,500 or 4,000 capacity bare bones venue. Play there for 1-2 years while the Super Pit is torn down and a new venue built on that site, then tear down the Snake Pit and build the practice facility there connected by bridge or tunnel to the new arena. We don’t need two different arenas on campus and the absurdity of moving basketball across the highway is being massively under considered.

A completely misguided effort moving a winter sport across an interstate highway from the main part of campus, when a perfectly suitable venue already exists. But what are we going to do when that once a decade robotics competition forces the women’s basketball game to play at TWU???

Sure, but probably with equally non-existent fan support. The softball team played for a conference championship (and won it) at home a few years ago and couldn’t even get 500 people there despite a small group of us on here pleading with people to show up.

While I actually don’t disagree with you that the HOF should strongly take loyalty into account, I have to think the chance at a national championship is probably worth more to her than a HOF with a bar as low as ours.

On the surface, yes it is simple. But it is one of the few things absolutely ingrained in our lacking fan culture. If you see another NT fan in public you’d say “Go Mean Green” just like any longhorn fan would say Hook Em.
