Are we really at the point to where we now think we can blow out most of CUSA? I expect most of, if not all of the CUSA games to be dogfights...particularly the ones on the road.

I'm not down with the lingo these days....what does the "e" stand for in "gtfoe"?

It's really a testament to how people on the outside saw this program prior to the year beginning that we were scheduled as the homecoming game for most of our away games....now let's go in there and ruin some homecomings.

Wow...I guess we will have to claim 2nd place in the big 12. A little surprised OSU managed to win after going down a (wo)man.

It's not that I don't see your point, or the obvious thinking behind why the highlights are done how they are, I just don't think we need to see literally every play we stop them for a short gain on the highlight reel every week. It's not like we show true highlights even in games that we win. Admittedly, a lot of schools do it the same way we do, it has just always bugged me. Just for the heck of it, I checked back with KSU to see if they posted true highlights for their loss to NDSU...sure enough they've got all the NDSU scoring plays on there along with KSU's...same thing for the other games. It's not really a complaint, more curious if anyone else had the same feelings. *Edited to fix silly grammar mistakes that could have been avoided by simple proof reading...

We could go anywhere from 0-8 to 8-0 to finish out the season. There are a ton of reasons to be optimistic, but if the last decade has taught us anything its that you take nothing for granted. I think we will find out in New Orleans what this team may have in store for the rest of the year.

The bowls have an order of picking, but they do not have to pick according to order of finish...

Well, if that happened there is a chance we could pick up an invite to a different bowl, like maybe the Alamo Bowl or the one in Houston that I think have Big 12 tie-ins...regardless, the number of Big 12 teams that are bowl eligible is irrelevant to the HOD bowl this year...we also have 4 or more games to win.

Anyone else think it is silly we only put the highlights of ourselves doing good things in these videos? I understand we are trying to paint ourselves in a good light, which is much deserved after that gutsy performance, but do we really need to see every time we stuffed their running back? I remember last year after the KSU game, the KSU website put up highlights after the game that showed all scoring plays for both teams with the home team radio call as the audio. It was really nice to see highlights that showed how the game went as a whole. Just my $.02. Regardless, I like very much that our video department uploads these videos so quickly after the game.

This game kicks off at 7pm tonight...I won't be able to post updates, but this is a pretty big game with a chance to finish 3-0 against the Big 12 this season. Still bummed the Baylor game got cancelled. OSU is better than OU, but we certainly have a team capable of coming up with a win tonight.

That's not correct. ESPN has it wrong. The Heart of Dallas bowl is a direct CUSA tie in this year vs. the Big 10. Next year it is the Big 12(10) vs. the Big 10(12). It flips back and forth each year.

The only downside about the Heart of Dallas bowl is that it is on ESPNU, while all the others are on ESPN. I think it would be well worth it in the end though to have such a large group of NT fans together. Got to get at least four more wins though for any of this to be relevant. Ideally we just win the west division, host and win the title game, and then play in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis....one game at a time.

With the way college sports are going just wait a few years and it will be "All-Pro" mode.

Some fraternities support better than others, but if we start winning 6+ games a year most will be inside the stadium, and some won't. For some people it's just about the party and the game is irrelevant, and nothing is going to change that. I work with a guy that went to a top tier SEC school (as far as football goes) and we were talking about stadium atmosphere and such and he said he never went into the games, instead they stayed outside at the tailgate and watched on TV....I don't understand it, but every college has these people, so in five years when we are getting 7-9 wins every year and winning bowl games, don't get too upset when you still see people up on the hill partying their tails off.

Too bad this got cancelled. I think we had a very good chance to pull out a victory...by the way, they've changed the time of the OSU game on Sunday to 7pm from the original 1pm.

Picking with my brain and not my heart - UGA 49, NT 17. Staying healthy is really important. I'd rather get beat by 50 and come out healthy than lose by 3 and have any serious injuries.

As I'm sure you know, the played Sam Houston State both times, and what blew me away is how they absolutely outnumbered the SHSU fans at least 2 or 3 to 1.

I've seen NDSU play in person twice in Frisco...both times NDSU brought 12,000 to 14,000 fans. Their tailgating is legit, and their fans are awesome....taking the production away from the FargoDome is ridiculous. One of our really great NT fans/posters grew up as an NDSU fan, and I'd be very interested to know his thoughts.

This is a big one folks....figured it was time to get a game thread started. Kick-off is at 7pm in Waco, so really tough to get down there on a Friday but is anyone making the trip?

It would be close...one would think beating two more Big 12(10) teams would get us in though....I think an actual win over a top 15 team like Baylor may be the thing we need to get over the hump....it sounds like it may be a sloppy game in Waco with the rain coming in to town on Friday. Anyone making the trip?

Does Chico call the plays? Whoever was doing it did a fantastic job, particularly in the second half.
