  1. You don't want to know the last time we won in the state of Mississippi (although there have been far less chances)...think, "disco".
  2. If (big if, but nevertheless) we do manage to win the next two, the Rice game and homecoming thereafter are GREAT opportunities to get NT grads from work who have been disconnected from the Mean Green for some time to come to a game.
  3. Nutkick Express?
  4. ....November 11, 2006 in Lafayette. We are 0-10 in the state since that game vs. a combination of LSU, ULM, ULL, and Tulane. Its time to break a few ugly streaks this Saturday. Go Mean Green!
  5. You think they've got that kind of room in the budget to churn out more reports???
  6. That was a brutal road trip for the soccer team against potentially the two CUSA teams that are as good or better than we are. Would've expected it to end a little better but it was par for the course for this weekend as a NT fan.
  7. While I don't want it to rain because of the negative impact it will have on attendance and our passing game, I will say that some of the games I've had the most fun at in the past have been rain games...the three that come to mind are: 1) 2009 vs. Ohio - Despite the final result it was a blast with in the rain with the legitimate few thousand students that showed up. 2) 2011 vs. MTSU - A little on the chilly side, but hopefully we can repeat that demolition of MUTS this Saturday. 3) 2007 vs. WKU - If I remember right we won by 1 point and there was a bit of a scrum afterwards. It was in the mid-30's for temperature and was absolutely miserable, but in those years it was worth the sacrifice to see a W. Rain or shine what we need is a W. Go Mean Green!
  8. He gets paid $600k a year to win football games, and not just those against bad teams. It's embarrassing that the excuse for not winning road games is that the teams we were playing against were good. 2-14 isn't average, not mediocre, it's deplorable. La Tech and USM have become must win games, so the coaching staff needs to get off the wambulance about the quality of teams we are playing (Tulane???) or how many people show up and just win football games.
  9. I think we do beat MTSU Saturday, but the last two years we can go pick out games we should've won that could've gotten us bowl eligible and I just don't hope we look back on Tulane that way. There was no excuse to lose that game. If we do in fact beat MTSU we better get our crap together on the road because winning both La Tech and USM will be very important and not easy with our recent history.
  10. Hypothetically, if Canales is terrible and he's been in his position for over two years now, whose job is it to assess that situation and make positive changes for the program? EDIT: Just saying you can't really blame one and not the other.
  11. If he isn't actually injured or doesn't become fake injured, playing him in mop up duty may go down as one of the most ridiculous decisions of the Dan Mccarney era...especially if Mcnulty was the #2 all along.
  12. MTSU has become a must win. I honestly think we win though because we are a different team at home. I wouldn't consider La Tech or USM sure wins as they are being played away from Denton.
  13. It is not going to be easy to get to six wins. Even if we do manage to get to six, it will still be disappointing to think of what could have been. Devastating mistakes are what is between us and being 4-1. Take away two Pick 6's from Thompson and we are 4-1. We may be a competitive team, but if we can't stop chronically handing away games it's going to be a long year.
  14. Not as many as if we quit finding creative ways to lose football games against terrible teams.
  15. Surely they will simply move the video board from Fouts over to the new track complex.
  16. This would be so typical...wouldn't be surprised at all if a complaint was filed...just hope the university stands behind a professor who is obviously proud of the institution at which they profess.
  17. I'm surprised Joeyvee hasn't stopped back by yet. Congrats to Idaho on the win. They were one of the most enjoyable groups of opposing fans to come onto this board in a long time.
  18. I dislike UTSA just as much as the next guy, but no real evidence so far has suggested that the game against them will be a cakewalk even at home. I'll wait to pass judgment for now.
  19. Dan McCarney has loyalty to this program until a bigger paycheck comes around, and anyone that thinks it is any different for head coaches at other schools on our level are being naïve. The ONLY case where this rule may not apply is in the case of coaches at their alma mater, or if the coach thinks they have a good team that's about to take off and they stick around to try and get a better offer the next year (Cristobal). EDIT: Although I value loyalty, I don't necessarily consider it a bad thing...for a coach to get better offers and move up it means they accomplished something positive. If Mccarney moves on, he will have left us in a much better place than when he got here.
  20. Doesn't TSU have a fan board? Yeah, this belongs there.
  21. I care about 0%, but I am surprised they didn't just build a fireproof version of the old one.
  22. #shavingsyllables
  23. It's a long way to 10/31/13.
