I think ECU loses to Marshall or NC State and tukane loses to UTSA or Rice. If we win out I give us about a 50-60% chance at hosting.

NT and ECU are tied in the loss column. Seems like a pretty hefty assumption to make with so much football to be played that ECU is a lock to be higher in the BCS standings...

The refs have blown two calls...a fumble that led to the Buffalo TD, and a safety on an intentional grounding call when the ball was thrown from the 4-yard line.

Also, Buffalo has an absolute atrocity for a stadium. We are really spoiled with Apogee.

Since BCS rankings may determine who hosts the championship game we need to be rooting for our uncommon opponents from ECU. A win by Ohio tonight against a good Buffalo team would be nice...if us and ECU keep winning you never know how close the standings may be.

I think a lot of that will depend on how much the team accomplishes this year.

With all of the student apartment complexes and other forms of housing in addition to the dorms, my best guess would be around 15,000 students live on or directly around the campus. I'm sure the actual number is out there somewhere...maybe even in the master plan, which I haven't read all The way through yet. Commuter school? Not so fast my friend.

I ventured over to the CUSA board for the first time in a long time earlier. I had no clue how much the UTSA fans run their mouths. I personally see UTSA and La Tech being our two major rivals I'm this conference. I have no problem with that either.

They'd probably rather not go to a bowl at all than play us in the HOD bowl.

7 is where we belong in the poll right now with an argument for 6. The people who put rice and or SMU still ahead of NT is absolutely baffling.

Any games played within our division will have a minimal effect. UTSA beating Tulane will lower tulanes ranking but raise UTSA. It evens out. If rather Tulane end up on 2 losses sooner rather than later so I'm pulling for UTSA. With the game against them in apogee I'm less concerned.

It doesn't sound like they're interested...if Mac were to leave at some point it won't be for a school that had previously fired him.

Its nothing to bank on, but nothing particularly crazy has to happen for us to host. 1) we have to win 3 games we will be favored in. 2) Tulane has to lose 1 of 2 games on the road they'll be underdogs in. 3) Marshall, who likely won't catch us in the BCS standings, and who is great at home needs to beat ECU the day before we play Tulsa. If we do indeed host, there's no way we will know for sure before the night of 11/30.

East Carolina still has to play @ NC State , who is ranked pretty low, so a loss to them may be enough to drop them. But after seeing how the computers reacted to this weekends games a loss to NC State will probably launch them into the top 25. It's never a piece of cake to win an away game like that.

If we get to the championship game and somehow host, I think we win. If we don't host, it will be tough @ Marshall or @ ECU. We need to win the next few games by as much as possible to help our computer rankings.

Although unlikely, it is possible both ECU and NT win out and we still pass them...a lot can happen in these computer rankings.

We really need Marshall to win out. If that happens, I think we host the championship game if we were to win out and Tulane loses one more. Passing ECU will be tough. Of course, if we win out and don't host the champtionship game, the loss to Tulane would be the reason we didn't host...FML. Us hosting would = a sell out.

Nowhere close to being over, but I would accept this as partial repayment for FAU beating us the first 7 times we played them (or something like that)
