You don't need to oversell your accomplishments. Your campaign has been excellent. The numbers you're claiming are just insane though.

Tickets picked up are not butts in seats. If you realistically look at what parts of that stadium would need to be filled for a legitimate 12k student crowd, well that just hasn't happened. I'm not criticizing your efforts or the students as a whole, what you're claiming of a 10k to 13k average is just not based in reality. Keep up the good work because a lot of progress has been made.

I don't want to be "that guy", but you're kidding, right? Student attendance has been great, but it's probably been 6-8k on average at best. We have not had 10k butt in seat students all year except for maybe one game. The progress has been phenomenal though.

Marshall still has a lot of ground to make up with #120 FIU on the schedule. ECU is not as high in the computer rankings as their BCS ranking suggests since they got those top 25 votes. Maybe if we convincingly win the next couple some friendly voters will throw a couple votes our way.

That's a lot of space to make up, particularly because they will drop after playing FIU. We may drop a tad after playing UTSA but not as much.

Why does Marshall go up after barely beating Tulsa but we drop after blowing out UTEP? Also, we play the highest rated team this week between us Marshall and ECU. If NCST somehow beats ECU, they could fall a lot because they would likely lose their poll votes.

It's silly to characterize this as putting the cart before the horse. These are scenarios clearly predicated upon us winning out, which considering the last decade we've experienced, very few people consider to be a given.

Since the game is at Marshall I agree. Will be interesting to see how ECU does against NCST. ECU is better but hopefully they lay an egg. Not sure if that would drop them enough in the BCS to matter though.

All that has to happen for us to host is for NT to win out and for Marshall to beat ECU. Marshall's SOS will only get a boost from playing (and hopefully beating) ECU and will not be enough to make up the 30 or so spot lead we have over them in the BCS.

Those two ranked teams were and still are HIGHLY overrated.

The only thing that gives me a shred of hope is that the preseason predictions for our football team were pretty bad too.

Is this still a thing? Who cares?

Think of the crowd we would have against rice if we were undefeated and ranked #15. It would've been wry close to a sell-out I bet. To be fair they are about twice as far from Chicago as we are from Dallas, and with traffic on a week night that makes things tough.

This part of your post is a little misleading...the issue did, in fact, go to a campus wide vote and the "same-sex homecoming" concept as it became known failed by a 58% to 42% margin. The voting took place in November 2009 after much hullabaloo.
