It would make way more sense to put a reasonable limit (like double your season tickets) or something like that on the amount of tickets you can get through priority points.

I assume there's a limit on the number of tickets that can be bought on each account to prevent something like this. Not to prevent the selling of tickets but to prevent the manipulation of the priority point system.

Yeah...it is silly to think getting more publicity before and after an embarrassing loss would help the program more...wouldn't that just encourage more "same ole North Texas" comments. Beat UNLV then we can beat the Whorns to get our power conference win.

If they do verbally announce it they will almost certainly call us North Texas State.

What's the point of having a BCS Selection Show AND a Bowl Selection Special if the latter is just a continuation of the former? 15 minutes in and they are still drooling over the BCS bowls they already spent 30 minutes on. *(Edited to add question mark)

I wanted a big 10 team too...I just don't think this is as big of a deal as some people are making it. Could it be better? sure. Is it sufficient to help the program take a big step forward? Yes.

After a one week break...we don't really know what 4-weeks will do...

You know, there are quite a few NT graduates in the area that the news organizations may see an opportunity to pander to...even though its just UNLV. Let's just win and get to a better bowl with a better opponent next year with all the recruits that like our 30k fans that showed up.

I don't know man...don't you know how many alumni we have in the metroplex?

This has been said before, but one of these days our fans will show up to root on NT rather than see NT play whoever it is we are playing. Alabama had 101,000 when we played them a few years ago. Think NT was an enthralling matchup for them? I bet they'd rather have been playing UNLV...

At least MTSU is another bowl team we can say we beat...

Opponent is irrelevant. A NT victory is pertinent...and a large NT crowd. Other irrelevant things are what uniforms we wear, what is on the helmet, whether stickers are on said helmet, etc.

It is a different feeling this bowl season for me. I am legitimately looking forward to rooting for all of the CUSA teams in bowl games this year (though Tulane and ECU will be taking their stank to the AAC, so they aren't really playing for CUSA anyway). If we could go undefeated that would be fantastic. This is a distinct change from my feelings during the Sun Belt years. To be honest I couldn't stand the Sun Belt and rooted for whoever any of them were playing. Even though some of those teams came along, it feels like with the CUSA name, it is something we can build upon. Also important is being able to fill all the contractual bowls slots, which the conference did, and attending them well. NT is in a position now where I believe success from other conference teams (so long as we are also finding success) can only help us moving forward.

I would take this bowl wen if it weren't on TV. It's an opportunity for disengaged fans to come check things out and have a transformative experience that leads them to get involved again...unless we lose.
