So they are checking TV listings to decide whether or not to go to a game? And not having the channel makes them less likely to come? All those blackout policies have been wrong all these years.

So then by your own logic we didn't get screwed, we screwed ourselves.

1. This game was scheduled for ESPNU months before the teams were decided, so no, we did not "get screwed". Don't like it? We should've won the conference then and gone to the liberty bowl. Oh well. 2. This game is not about the TV audience. This is about us as a fan base. Other than being able to say we were on national TV, which we can, what good does Joe Schmo in Bangor, Maine watching the game help us at all? Like THOR said, the TV is really irrelevant. This is about is as fans, the team, and as many disinterested alumni (despite all the whining about the opponent) having a transformative NYD experience that convinces them to get back involved again. 2a. This is also about the students. Ever notice how many of our diehard fans are from the 2001-2004 years. Our current students need that kind of experience that we are about to have on NYD to get them hooked for life. 3. We need very badly to win or else the benefits quickly fade.

To be fair, I think ECU would sell quite a few tickets if their bowl game were 50 miles from campus in the heart if their biggest alumni base.

It's really too bad all those Cajun fans won't be able to read about this big win in the newspaper tomorrow morning.

I have no doubt we would get close to that if it were SMU and NT here in Dallas in a venue where weather was a non-issue.

We really should be rooting for Tulane...a middle of the pack CUSA team (despite them leaving) beating the Sun Belt champion helps keep the distance between the conferences.

I wish they could both lose. Tulane is leaving, so forget them, and lafeyette has one of the more arrogant fan bases out there despite the good food.

He also said there were no great teams in our conference, only some solid ones, five minutes after barely beating an NAIA team.

Didn't you say we averaged 10k to 13k students at home games (or something to that effect)? Not exactly a flawless track record. I hope you're right though and whatever the number is it needs to keep going up.
