Really impressive turnout from La Tech fans.

I am not ready to accept that we were terrible for a decade, have one good year, and are all of the sudden rebuilding again. I just can't accept that yet and hope it isn't the case.

Soccer is called football in some parts of the world...bump. Also, unless I missed it I'm SHOCKED this did not get plugged during the football game tonight.

How many student tickets were picked up for SMU?

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see SMU way better in a few years. All it took to fix the basketball program was money and they've got plenty more unfortunately. Can't wait to have more fans than them at ford next year though.

The NT soccer team (who received 1 top 25 vote this week) will take on the #15 Oklahoma Sooners in one of the biggest soccer games in Denton in some time. The only team to beat OU this year is #5 Florida State, and OU already took down #6 Florida. OU will also be out for blood as NT trounced the Sooners 5-0 last year in Norman. OU will have a good crowd at the game, as they typically do even for non-revenue sports, so it is important that we do as well. I'll leave this in the hands of the all-powerful mods as to the ultimate destination of this thread, but the extra visibility of the football thread can only be a positive IMHO. Go Mean Green!

Oklahoma beat Nebraska (who was receiving top 25 votes) on Friday in OT and beat Central Arkansas today 5-0 so it's very possible they move up into the teens in the coaches poll. A good crowd is imperative on Friday, particularly because OU "travels" well even for non-revenue sports.

NT wins 1-0. Now 5-0 on the year. Massive game against #20 Oklahoma this Friday in Denton.

1-0 NT with about 20 minutes left.

0-0 at halftime. Vanderbilt really pressing hard making it difficult for NT to play out of the back. NT is out shooting Vandy 9-3, but almost all of our shots have been harmless and caused little trouble for the Vandy goalkeeper. Hopefully NT can be a little more precise in the final third in the second half.

About 20 minutes in... still scoreless. Vandy looking the more dangerous of the two teams so far. Vandy lost 2-1 to Rice in OT on Friday...field doesn't look too great...

I hope it's not true as well. This sort of thing, if true, is a surefire way for alcohol sales at the stadium to be discontinued. By the looks of it, a fair amount of revenue was generated today through beer sales.

1pm tomorrow at the Mean Green Soccer Complex. Probably the toughest test of the season so far. Hopefully the team isn't looking too far ahead to the game against top 20 Oklahoma at home on Friday.

The game was a blast, but in the grand scheme of things, it's just one game in the win column and provides a little extra ammunition for recruiting season against SMU. Our sights should ultimately be much higher.
