  1. How would he have a year of eligibility left?
  2. I was sure this was going to be the title of a Vito blog post.
  3. I think McCarney could probably go 0-12 next year and not be fired so next year may not be the end all be all for him. I would've preferred sustained success before the long term extension, but hopefully this year was just an anomaly and things get back on track in 2015. Things have to get better eventually, right?
  4. McCarney had a losing record when he was extended...
  5. Numbers up is always good. My only point is we are seeing an increase in the goal paired with a simultaneous lowering of the standards to reach it.
  6. Looks like TT beat PVAMU by 28 at home a couple weeks ago. Should be interesting.
  7. So the goal of 2,500 members coincides with the addition of the Spiriki level? I am all for getting as many people involved as possible, but can't help but feel like the standards were lowered a bit. Converting those Spiriki members to donate at the previous minimum levels is going to take a lot of hard work and undoubtedly success on the field/court in the coming years.
  8. Maybe. I actually thought he sounded legitimately embarrassed. The key though is building off of that. Saying after losses that you don't accept losing and that the loss was embarrassing becomes irrelevant if the losses keep piling up. Things need to get turned around soon, because there are some solid teams in CUSA.
  9. After his post game interview saying how embarrassing the loss was I envision something similar to the "they are who we thought they were, and we let them of the hook" speech.
  10. For what it's worth, I believe the union in the biggest capital project in the history of NT.
  11. First loss I could find against a SWAC team since 12/3/03, a 75-58 away loss to Southern. First loss I could find against a SWAC team at home since 12/4/89, a 83-66 loss to Texas Southern (granted we did not play SWAC teams as frequently in the 1990s. My caveat is I literally just skimmed past schedules. Nothing scientific so I could have missed something.
  12. Don't count us as a win just yet....so far they've only beat Schreiner. EDIT: Nevermind.
  13. Well, if Creighton can come back from 27 down, certainly we can make up 7 points in about 3 minutes.
  14. PVAM better or worse than Langston?
  15. Considering you can now join for $25, the bar should be even higher than that.
  16. What comfort level was Mac lacking? He knew Skladany extremely well.
  17. Which Scrappy? Eugene Levy or classic? Graphic designing those eyebrows could be pricey...
  18. Are we the only school that doesn't win appeals?
  19. Im not really one to dwell on past coaches, but to be fair her entire coaching career, including the improvement in her one year here suggests she would be doing much better. She recruited at a higher level, including a couple all sun belt players that are no longer with the team. Peterson if I remember right was about a career .500 coach without any high level success despite being in better conferences.
  20. Yeah, but they were competitive though.
  21. I would be more than happy if we could just fill our OOC home schedule with other G5 and bottom-feeder P5 schools (like Indiana, Colorado, etc.). It would probably take a 2 for 1 to get a team like TAMU to Denton so I would just forget it. We should never, ever settle for less than a 1 for 1 deal. If that means scheduling two MAC and Sun Belt teams every year, so be it.
  22. Massive face palm.
  23. Texas State is new enough to where they don't have the Sun Belt stench. Also, we have a lot of history with them. Would be awesome to be in a division with all Texas schools and La Tech which is really close. I've never understood the crush that some of our fan base has on ULL and ASU.
