Just for the record, the super pit has only actually been full once, and has only had +/- 7,000 or so about 10 times (for NT basketball). I do agree there is potential to fill the arena. Consistent winning is how that is going to happen. It's going to take more than just CUSA wins though.

Jalie is a risk, but the program literally can't get any worse. We aren't going to find anyone more passionate about the success of the program I believe she would be a star here. She's also learned from Aston, who at the very least is the best women's coach to pass through here in the last two decades.

Mitchell has been an assistant under Karen Aston for four years now. I would hope if she is interested she would at least get an interview. Just because she is young doesn't mean she can't coach. The guy at SFA also seems like a very good choice. If we do end up with a prior head coach with a mediocre career record my head just might explode.

The terms of the buyout should be in the contract which is public record. It's probably just the two years of salary so a little over $400,000.

Petersen was just about a career .500 coach when he was hired with something like a 30-year sample size. It wasn't necessarily a spectacular hire to begin with. Did I think it would be this bad? Not in a million years.

I actually think Stephens finished her last season 5-25 since every team qualified for the conference tourney and that team played an extra game. I'm just going off memory so I could be wrong.

Shanice was let go after essentially the same 3-year performance. Will be interesting. If we do replace her, my pick is Jalie Mitchell, the assistant from Texas. She is an alum, and one of the best players we've ever had. She's had a few years to learn under Karen Aston as well. It's a bit of a risk because she has no head coaching experience, but with the program in it's current state, it's probably time to take a risk.

Good thing their facilities aren't as good as ours. Take that UTSA! You don't even deserve to be on the same field/court as us!!! You have to earn it.

According to the Tulsa website the games were moved to Bishop Lynch. NT plays Tulsa at 4:00pm according to the article.

I believe we could theoretically drop as low as 11 with a loss. A win clinches the 6 seed.

So NT clinches the 12 seed with a win over UTSA Saturday or a Rice loss vs. UTEP. If NT loses, and Rice wins, the teams will be tied. The season series was split. Both teams beat FIU. In this scenario, the other rice wins would be UTSA and UTEP, and the other NT wins would be FAU and Marshall. The best win out of this group would be Rice over UTSA, making them the 12 seed and eliminating NT.

UTEP wins 69-61. Ladies now 5-23 on the year.

Hopefully we aren't the one game they win...

If the ladies don't win at least one of these last two they are in real danger of not making the tourney.
