Another week, another disappointing result for FCD. -
Cauzabon wins in the Dominican Republic for his second win of the season and moved to #1 on the Latin America money list at the halfway mark of the season. The top 5 move to the web.com tour.

What other teams do you like besides UNT?
Mean Green Matt replied to untjim1995's topic in Mean Green Football
None in FBS. I root for NDSU in FCS because I've got mad respect for what they've accomplished across the board. They're more relevant than us nationally and it's really not close. -
I wonder if he was offered by Oregon state, FGCU and providence. If so, that's not a terrible list.
-
Carlos misses the second cut after round 3. Cauzabon on the Latin America tour was tied for 25 last I saw.
-
Interesting. If this rain keeps up it'll be a par 54 by Sunday.

One of the more depressing FCD games (at least thru one half) that I've seen in a while. Offense is lethargic at best without Castillo. Apparebtly SKC is also incapable of committing a foul. -
Par is 70 at TPC Las Colinas. It looks like Carlos will make the cut. Not sure how it works when enough players still have to finish round two that could theoretically move the cut line to -2.
-
Not good enough. He's outside the cut line after round 1. Anything over par won't get the job done on this course. Good news is he has another round.

LaTech AD scheduled too ambitiously?

How much is Iowa paying us? -
I knew it was higher than most people thought, but had no idea it was that high. That's fantastic! So far from a commuter school.
-
That is not backed up by any article that you've posted. Either way, I think the constructiveness of the debate has fallen off.
-
"The student referendum passed 1,220 to 1,033 in favor of the Union fee increase, which will add up to $115 to the current $51 Union fee starting in fall 2014. The increase will help fund construction of the new University Union, which is projected to cost about $120 million and will be completed by fall 2015." The term help is used because the fee increase is not necessarily the sole source of funds for construction, but without it, the union would not have been able to be built in the absence of huge private donations.

I suppose it's possible I'm wrong, but my recollection of the events and all the reporting, including the links you have provided do not match your characterization of the situation.
-
The NT Daily article is referring to Rawlins approving the plan to move forward with the planning. A lot was put into the plans to sell the students on how awesome it would be. The Denton RC article backs up the fact that the students approved the additional fee.
-
That really isn't accurate, especially to make an all encompassing statement that SGA didn't want it. The SGA president at the time was one of the biggest advocates for it. Were there senators here and there that didn't want the fee, I'm sure there were. To suggest this was some big conspiracy from the university administration is silly. https://news.unt.edu/news-releases/unt-students-approve-union-fee-building-set-open-2015

I don't have an issue with Tennessee at all, but considering Iowa is an absurd 2 for 0, I don't think that should ever be used as a positive argument for our scheduling. -
The union fee passed a vote, so that's about as clear an indication that the students wanted it as there can be.

Especially because if she is going to leave, it will be for big money and a school that can afford to pay it. -

If someone said a couple months ago that Leicester would finish 14th they'd be looked at like a crazy person. What an amazing finish to the year for them. Winning 7 of their last 9. Also, very disappointing game for FCD last night. Not a good start to the string of road games. -
Post-round 3 updates for those curious: Ortiz - Tied for 52nd at 1-under. Edwards - Tied for 17th at 3-over. Cauzabon - MADE CUT - Tied for 34th at 1-under. Third round yet to begin due to weather.
-
Quick update on our professional golfers after the second round. Carlos Ortiz - Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial - MADE CUT - (Even Par) - Tied for 51st. Joel Edwards - Senior PGA Championship - MADE CUT - (+2) - Tied for 12th. Rodolfo Cauzabon - Guatemala Stella Artois Open - Round 2 Suspended due to weather - Currently at 2-under thru 6 and tied for 25th.

Without looking it up, so I could be remembering incorrectly, but I think this is very comparable to what Karen Aston was making at NT, but about 25% less than Petersen was making (at least for the first year). Petersen owes his agent a nice dinner. -
Ortiz tied for 33rd at -1 overall through 12 holes today. In other news, former NT golfer Joel Edwards is 6 strokes odd the lead and appears will make the cut at the senior PGA.
-
So he dropped to a tie for 56th after day one (with only a few players left on the course. +1 and worse would be cut if it ended today. Carlos really needs an under par round tomorrow.
