This year we are beating bad teams as opposed to losing to them last year. Beating the good teams is an entirely different animal and we are obviously very far behind. I don't think Littrell is going anywhere until he can at least show competitiveness against the top half of CUSA.

On one hand I think there are too many bowls. On the other hand I like all 6-6 teams getting an extra game to try and finish with a winning record and at the same time a couple teams getting rewarded for good academics.

So I did this very quickly, so it could be wrong, but assuming Army IS eligible, there are 64 bowl eligible teams right now with 14 more teams capable of getting eligible for a total of 78. If Army is eligible, that would put us #4 on the APR list for a spot behind Duke, Northwestern and Vanderbilt. Duke and Vandy still need a 5th win. With 80 spots available it isn't looking too bad. If we beat UTEP I think we are guaranteed a spot.

I didn't take the time to look it up, but I was thinking the buyout (with such a ridiculously late cancellation) is probably higher than what USA would have been paid if the game was played.

If there was a conference opponent we could play there every year that would draw an attendance of 50,000 to 60,000 then sure. Otherwise, absolutely not.

If we get to six wins we are going to a bowl game. Don't need 7. Getting to 6 will be the hard part.

They do need a new stadium, but in downtown Dallas. ;)

Last night was not the night Fine was going to be able to show us he could beat an FBS team. He was getting swarmed immediately after the snap all night. If there were any doubts about his toughness I think that question has been answered. We will find out where our offense really stands over the next couple weeks.

I've seen multiple people in this thread suggest that Petersen was a great choice on paper. How exactly? His entire coaching career suggested nothing but mediocrity. What we got was even worse than that. He wasn't going to be brought back to wake forest and somehow we thought it was a good plan to buy out his contract at Wake. Mccarney was the same situation with regard to track record We were promised proven winners with head coaching experience. None of Mac, Petersen, or Benford fit that and look what has happened.

With regard to Wondo, I cannot believe people still think he is an international caliber player.

It appears I'm squarely in the minority here, but I have no issue with the home FCS, home G5, away G5, away P5 scheduling format. We have more than enough students and alumni in this area where we should be filling the stadium regardless of whether we are playing Lamar or Texas Tech.
