    I think you take it to get the extra practices for a young team. Don't let some sort of college football purist attitude get in the way of a practical decision.

    If we win today both us and USM will be 4-4 and we have the tiebreak. Do we not get to choose ahead of them? If that's not how it works then in reality CUSA is just going to send teams where they see fit.

    Give me Boise over Hawaii or Bahamas any day. That trip could actually be made at a reasonable cost. With NT and USM both finishing 4-4 and us having the tiebreaker does that mean we are stuck with a CUSA bowl (Bahamas or Hawaii) no matter what if we win tomorrow?

    Very true. Although I think as long as we can raise his pay he isn't going to leave to go coach Purdue or Iowa State or the like. I think he would wait for a good job.

    But don't slots get filled first with any 6-6 teams and then the spots that are left get allocated to 5-7 teams. Does CUSA control who fills what when it only has a 5-7 team left?

    Kind of seems like we get a better bowl if we go in at 5-7 with an APR exemption that way we aren't doomed to the CUSA tie-ins?

    Irrelevant whether SMU matches or not. If he ever wants to win a national championship he takes the move to the Big 12. That's the same reason Houston won't be able to keep Herman no matter how big of a check they write.

    The chance Littrell leaves for another G5 is almost zero. No sense making a lateral move. We would just give him a raise.
