  1. Put Tech in the Indy and make HOD a G5 vs. G5?
  2. If the Indy turns out P5 vs. P5 then New Orleans was undoubtedly the best option available. Nothing against Albuquerque as a "destination". I just wish the NOB was a little further into bowl season.
  3. Someone should let the Shreveport times know then...http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/sports/college/2017/12/02/fsu-kiffin-latech-options-abound-11-th-hour-independence-bowl-walk-ons/916658001/
  4. Because CUSA has the actual secondary tie in for that one...unlike the HOD bowl this year.
  5. Independence Bowl?
  6. There would have had to be some major trading at the last minute for the Independence Bowl not to end up CUSA vs. ACC. And that CUSA team would almost certainly be a western division team that WE beat. If I were FAU I'd be incredibly underwhelmed with Temple.
  7. This team deserved the Independence Bowl matchup against an ACC team. (assuming that opportunity goes to a team we beat).
  8. This is a bit of a mischaracterizarion. In fact, respect for how good Troy is on the field this year was one of the main arguments against playing in it. Not because we are somehow superior to them.
  9. Haven't been able to watch the last couple of games. Based on score it seems like maybe the team is making some progress. Does it look that way on the court too?
  10. If you are counting actual human beings that were in the stadium it was probably about 7500.
  11. You may be right. If I'm remembering correctly the general style of scrappy was the same for about 15 years before Eugene Levy scrappy (which, after a few years is starting to grow on me a bit).
  12. I think the defense will come out very amped up. It will be a different NT team today than last time. Whether that is enough on the road, who knows. I'm actually a little worried we come out so amped up FAU is able to take advantage of it.
  13. Dilly Dilly.
  14. Touché. I'll concede the independence bowl may not be overflowing. But I believe wholeheartedly there would be more green (and not even close) for Shreveport against an ACC school over Troy in New Orleans.
  15. For what it's worth, If the CUSA selection process (meaning the order of bowl selection by top teams) actually works materially differently than is being reported by Vito, then that is a game changer as far what fan reaction should be to the situation as a whole. No matter what happens with the bowls (and yes, I'll be frustrated if it's the NOB against a sun belt team) winning the next two games is the most important thing. Go Mean Green! Beat FAU!
  16. If that is how it is, then so be it. The question then becomes WHY other bowls aren't interested. But for the time being at least that is not how Brett Vito is reporting the situation or the process.
  17. This is the first time I've seen it characterized like this. If true are we to assume the NOB is likely the only bowl that extended an invite (maybe New Mexico?) What if none of the bowls wants the conference champion?
  18. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately even though TCU is Big 12 this is a bad loss.
  19. The NOB is fine. And a 6-6 or 7-5 CUSA team should enjoy it. Not a 10-3 CUSA champ or 9-4 conference runner up.
  20. I agree with this. We may be able to infer from the ultimate matchups in these games how things went down. But based on comments from decision makers and the current reporting it is very puzzling.
  21. Hold up. If anything people on here have been complimentary of Troy. Unfortunately the perception of the Sun Belt is well...still the Sun Belt. What does playing in that game specifically (meaning it is reportedly being specifically chosen over other options) do for us?
