  1. Things sound pretty good for the first day thanks for the update Emmitt.
  2. Good clarification if we had admins censoring admins I was gonna thrown in the towel.
  3. I agree he's got a shot to play and hope he does. But what from that article makes you think he's going to play it names every scholarship halfback Texas has on campus. It basically listed him as 4th or 5th currently and that doesn't include the best all purpose back in the nation Hales who will be on campus in August.
  4. Ok it's a 2 year old post but you can't mention PS2 and kids playing I assume NCAA and then say they've never heard of Doak Walker. There's a Doak Walker award on the game I don't recall a Wes Welker award. PS. This tread was a great prediction.
  5. Rivals doesn't have any Southlake players in there database yet NT prospect or not.
  6. That's not an authorized nickname
  7. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  8. The lack of a track alone has Fouts beat. I really wish we could get state funds like the Florida schools.
  9. That sounds like a question for Cerebus.
  10. Even with the grammatical errors it's good to know Deloach thinks we had better talent than what Mendoza put out there. Either that or he just knows he can get more out of the same talent either way I look forward to seeing the changes.
  11. I'm sensing a North Texas bias on this board.
  12. I don't know but if it's a may come back thing I'd assume it's grade related and we wouldn't know anything until after he make grades at NCTC or another JUCO.
  13. As long as he looks like he did last spring this fall I'll be happy. As long as he gets healthy I can sacrifice seeing him this spring.
  14. Probably because you can't see the fields by the athletics center from the stands at Fouts. But yes if they're practicing at Fouts I'd rather be in the stands than outside the gate.
  15. They're almost all unproven but we defiantly addressed the weakness I think your right we should be pretty solid a cross the whole secondary for a while now.
  16. Thats what I'm hoping meow.
  17. Does anyone know how much size he's put on. He's gone from TE to DE to DT in a year.
  18. We're talking about walk-ons if one or two of them put on size and start to develop in to contributers than it's a success.
  19. Yes this is for next years class these camps are a big part of what they use to grade the prospects. So no already graduated kids won't be there that would be like having the combine after the draft.
  20. You've got us 6-2 in conference so are we going bowling.
  21. I do like the speed scout has him at 4.45 and rivals at 4.42. ESPNs profile Neal is a solid all-around football player. He may not dazzle you in any one area, but he is tough, competitive and has a nose for the ball. He has adequate size and plays big versus the run. He is at his best in a rover role where he can use his instincts, diagnose and react to what he sees. He does a nice job in pursuit, takes good angles and fills the lane hard. He is not afraid to throw his body around. He shows adequate change-of-direction skills, has decent feet and has good range in coverage, but is at his best in zone when keeping the ball in front of him. Uses good technique and rarely is out of position. Plays smart and seems to know his limitations in pass coverage. He probably lacks the speed and ideal quickness to handle a ton of man coverage work, but in the right role is adequate. Tough to evaluate ball skills. He has the mentality of an excellent cover teams player. Overall, Neal finds a way to get it done. Other players may have more talent, but he has a feel for the game.
  22. The NCAA has a four year moratorium on teams moving up. Teams already making the transition are exempt but other teams like TX St will have to wait until 2012 to make the move and I believe that is their target date.
  23. I think thats the biggest point everyone in the conference is a new program we all need time to develop. Very few programs can move up and compete immediately. The Florida programs have a leg up since they had a bout the same population and talent pool but only three historic D1 programs. So when the four new schools came in it was easier to take a piece of the pie but when we moved up there were already 9 other D1 programs. So with thats said I'm not really sure I'd want another local school to move up but if they meet the requirements I'd rather have them in the Belt than some where else.
  24. I'm sure not all of these schools will make the jump but do we really need 4 more D-1 programs in Texas we already have 10.
