1. He can be #2 even with a 3rd round pick behind him but he has to clearly win the job if its close he’s out. I think he’s shown enough to make the team regardless but if he’s not #2 I wouldn’t mind seeing him somewhere else getting more pt.
2. Last I heard he had dropped out of the JUCO.
3. No one has really even talked about which is better. I'd have to call this one a draw niether conference has too much right now. But from that list I'd take Ware; Rothlisberger may have a ring but over all he's a spare.
4. I believe we have three freshman fighting for the job all of them were kicking in HS last year.
5. It's a new day coaches want kickers and punteres to be athletes now days. Of course there are still a few 5'6 130lbs guys out there.
6. I'm not going to bash Meager or any of the QB's until the season gets here but remember he was at the camp and looked good but he wasn't an Elite 11 QB.
7. I assume he thinks both will get a lot of playing time unless one of them isn't cutting it then the other will be the guy.
8. So is this guy wrong or are we missing a recruit from everything I've see we're still at 10.
9. PC got my vote but chatmans big run was a bigger play. We're good a swaying votes but I think this one is bigger than us.
10. I'm really hoping he gets some good playing time. I was always a huge Marino fan and followed the dolphins for 15 year because of it. But since he retired I really haven't had much of a reason to watch my second favorite team thanks PC.
11.
August 12, 2007 A question from Bob
I am from the Waco area and I was wondering about freshman receiver B.J Lewis. How is he doing and what are the chances that he will play this coming year? -- Bob Smith, Waco Bob e-mailed a question about B.J. Lewis today, so I thought I would let everyone in on my take on the blog. After talking with UNT head coach Todd Dodge and watching practice over the last few days, I think Lewis might have the best chance of any of UNT's freshman wide receivers to contribute this season. Lewis (6-1, 190) has a great combination of size and speed and is adapting quickly to UNT's offense. Lewis also has an advantage because he is a slot receiver. UNT not only has more players on the outside than in the slot, the players on the outside have more experience. I would be surprised if Lewis does not see significant playing time right away this season. Posted by Brett Vito at 4:36 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
12. That's exactly what we have to do. Rather he's here for 4 years or 20 we need to take advantage of eveything he brings to the program.
13. Yeah it says he was last online Tuesday.
14. If that is true I don't think I want him on the team very badly. So I hope it's not.
15. He wore number 1 in highschool so I know thats not it.
16. You sound surprised but weren’t you the one who let the cat out last week.
17. That would be sweet i hope they start with the soap dispensers.
18. That’s my theory I don’t look forward to paying the extra money but I do look forward to the benefits what will come from having extra money in the program.
19. That’s the biggest issue. Fouts isn’t the reason we are where we are right now. It’s the lack of money and support for the program over the past 100 years. We need some success and support before we can even imagine filling a 40k plus stadium regardless of who we are playing. Lets build what we can and then prove to the university and the nation we need and deserve more.
20. I just ignore them completely. We’ve sucked the past two years and have a new coach so they are justified in their opinions. But I think we will be much better than the media expects and just need to prove it on the field and hope they're not right.
21. The cost and feasibility of building the upper deck to initially is just way too high and being able to fit 40k plus in just the lower bowl causes way too many design issues. I don’t like the idea of building something we hope is obsolete upon completion but a new 32k seat stadium will help put us on the map. If we can have a new stadium by 2009 or 2010 and long as fund raising continues throughout construction and attendance increases like we think it will the increased revenue from tickets and donations alone will allow us to expand by 2015.
22. If I'm not wrong they're moving the kickoff back to the 30 yardline this year which will make a good kicker even more important.
23. I think we'll be ok we've got a three way competition and the best will come out of it. I know the Moreland kid from Forney was a pretty highly regarded and I’m sure the others have some talent as well. Plus who ever wins the job will have a year of experience by this time next year and could become a four year letterman. Let Todge sort out this season and let’s hope we don’t really have to recruit another kicker.
24. Being number #2 isn’t too bad for a young back. Most starters get dinged up throughout the season and if PC can get a couple starts and come through he could easily parlay that into a starting gig somewhere else.
25. That is a big move he's not only a freshman he's also moving from tight-end to defensive tackle I thought the transition might take a while.
