We keep talking about building a new 40000 seat stadium and moving to a bigger and better conference but personally I think we should worry about taking care of business where we are first. Over the past 5 years we’ve won a couple conference titles and beat Baylor and SMU yet averages attendance is less than 16000 fans per game with a student body of 32000, and 26000 undergrads. In that same time Troy has averaged almost 20000 per game with only 17000 undergrads and wins over OSU, Marshall and Missouri all in their first 5 years in division one. So I think we should worry about our own image and start winning games and putting butts in the seats before we even worry about getting a new stadium or demanding what we don’t deserve. If we want into CUSA we have to worry about Troy they’re not only a better geographical fit they have also drastically out performed us over the past several years. Let's focus more on what we have control over like attendance numbers and win loss records; if we win some ball games people will show up forcing the need for a bigger stadium and therefore forcing the hands of other conferences to take s seriously. We have to beat Troy to the punch they currently have a huge advantage the only advantage we have over them currently is our media market and that’s not enough. They win big games we don’t and if we hope to beat them out for any conference bid then we have to start winning big games as well.

It's conference exposer if that do well then we'll get better coverage and more respect.

I agree completely and that is why I consider the next two years to be a tryout. If we come thought and really support the team than the school will have no choice but to build a bigger stadium but we continue to average 20000 or less than what right do we have to demand a 40000 seat stadium.

A lot of people thought OSU would be pretty good this year. I guess they've got more holes than we thought.

34-10 Troy 8:20 left in the 3rd OSU ball on thier 20.

If it is a 2 for 1 with K-State what wasn't the 2005 game part of that contract.

This is great for the Belt but someday someone other then Troy has to start beating BCS schools.

Cowboys To Use Personal Seat Licenses To Help Finance Stadium
NTPhiKap99 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
As I mentioned the return isn't the reward it's the stadium and rights to the seats that matter. -
We can't worry about who's ref-ing games rather it's our guys or the opponents. We as a conference have to take the next step and start winning ball games. Do we have games where the refs screw us yes but the refs don't take the games away from us. The Sun Belt is getting better and is starting to compete with BCS schools lets keep just getting better and go from there. GO TROY!

Cowboys To Use Personal Seat Licenses To Help Finance Stadium
NTPhiKap99 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
Mark me down for a few my family still holds about 50 of those original Texas Stadium bonds. If NT can sell bonds to help finance a stadium I'm on board. The profit on the bonds is nothing but getting a new stadium would be priceless. -
So last season we averaged 15650 with what 32000 students so lets say 1/3 or the student body showed up for games which I think we all agree is an exaggeration. And now that we announce we have 34268 students we all think we deserve a 40000 seat stadium. I say we increase student, alumni and overall fan support before we worry about 40000 seats other wise we wait until enrollment reaches 60000 at that point the 1/3 of the student body who support the program plus the current alumni support should come close to filling our new 40000 seat stadium.

I'm think he was talking about players who signed with NT not big 10 or 12 teams. And if not with the exception of Celina how many 2-3A programs has many D-1 recruits. South Lake has been constantly growing and stepping up in divisions yes Dodge is a genius but he was also lucky to fall into a program on the rise. His system was made South Lake a power but a growing talent base is why so many these kids are going D-1 and so far we're reaping a lot of those benefits.

It's very simple if the other team has the ball go ahead and yell anytime you want especially on third down or long yardage situations. If we have the ball cheer after a big play or anything good for all I care but if we're trying to get the play called in stay quiet.

I've got to agree the fans showed up in force and were full of energy. Even with a lose the team was very exciting and impressive I think we held on to everyone who was there and probably earned quite a few new fans with that game. Let not bash QBs fir putting too much air under the ball. I refuse bash a guy who passes for 600 yards so I'll stay out of the Meager debate this week but lets not bash the other guy for having the same problem as our guy.

DD ran our the clock when we got the opening kickoff.

Does this really surprise anyone. They'll all be better this week. against SMU. -
No bashing people just for thier number of posts only having 19 posts means we haven't been able to determine if he's an idoit yet. Lets hold of judgement for a while.

Memories that was the first game my freshman year I don't remember much but I do remember learning never to show up without a flask. It wasn't until after beating Cincinnati in the New Orleans bowl I decided I could live with out the flask.

Drc Fb Offensive D, Dodges Analysis Of Ou Game
NTPhiKap99 replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
That does tend to happen when you have to return 12 kickoffs I don't expect to have that kind of problem the rest of the way. -
I was the 5th vote. This poll is going great so far.

Defensive Schemed Lauged At By Ou Coaches?
NTPhiKap99 replied to Green Crazy's topic in Mean Green Football
We have a slew of high school coaches and low mid-major talent right now trying to work together everyone needs a learning curve. All of these kids on the team and coaches will get better and as we recruit better talent they will make the coaches look better so lets give Dodge and the rest of the staff a little time to adjust to the speed and level of competition before we judge how they’re doing. -
I was kinda thinking the same thing. I'm anti JORTS and tucked in jersey but I didn't realize the braided belt was really out.
-
I though the Williams post was too serious but someone did mentioned a garage sale so I thought we may be able to collect and sale enough JORTS to pay for new matching band shorts. I think all of mine are gone but I may beable to dig up a pair. Now I 've just gotta figure our who's going to buy all those JORTS.
