  1. This policy rubs everyone the wrong way and it should for years donating the minimum and buying extra tickets was the way to go. It allows people to give away tickets to friends and family which guaranteed more ticket sales and more butts in the seats. But as we take steps towards respectability and ticket demand goes up the athletics department has to make sure the best tickets make as much money as possible. If I’ve read correctly this only applies to section E but I do expect that to change as demand increase its part of becoming a big time program. Just try walking into any other ticket office with a $250 donation and saying I want 20 tickets on the 50 and I’m pretty sure you’ll get laughed out the door. It’s hard to say this but we as fans have had it way too good in the past at least financially. This in no way discourages people buying extra tickets it just shifts people over a section. Does it suck that long time fans have to donate more, buy less ticket or change seats yes but it’s all in the name of progress and I expect more similar change as the new stadium gets closer to reality.
  2. So how do you start a slow clap online.
  3. Exactly who couldn't see this coming since we've been selling out every game we have to make sure the best tickets go to those willing to pay. We can't have people just buying extra tickets to give away thats just wrong.
  4. Exactly it's a winnable home and home series which is what we need to start scheduling more of ASAP.
  5. The crack was for celebration not motivation. I think that makes a difference.
  6. It did get a little off topic when we started talking about when it's ok to lie to the police.
  7. Vizza State Championship. 4a Player of the year. Riley State Championship as a starter. 5a player of the year.
  8. It's really never a case of rather or not a player can start as a freshman it's to they have to start as a freshman. No coach wants to start a freshman not the number 1 QB in the nation or their son. It's just not the best policy unless you have no other choice. But like last year Dodge realized Meagers experience wasn't going to increase our chance of winning enough to squander an opportunity to get Vizza a lot of priceless experience. Very few players especially QB's start for four years it's part of the learning curve. Riley is willing to sit because he knows it's best for him in the long term and I'm sure he doesn't expect to sit for 4 year he thinks he'll take the job away from Vizza. Rather or not this happens I think the competition at QB will be great for both of them and I expect whoever doesn't win out to find other ways to help out the team.
  9. The kid has been offered and excepted thats all there is to it now. Does he deserve it maybe that's still to be seen but that's no differnt from anyone else. Is he the highest rated player but if he has grown 3-4" and almost 100lbs in the past year plus constant position changes how can anyone expect him to be graded.
  10. I really love the fact that after just one year with Dodge we are bashing and doubting players of the same talent and demand that Dickey recruited to win four Sun Belt championships. I's love to recruit 25 3-4 star players but it's not going to happen. When your not a power house program recruiting is all about finding players sleepers and late bloomers. That's all this is he's young still growing and needs time to develope at the position. I'm just happy we're taking a chance on a couple projects with size but no experience instead of signing an entire class of players noone else wants like in the past.
  11. I've only heard it once before but according the the urban dictionary. Wonky = weird, whacked out, messed up, not working for no definable reason. Usually applied to technology.
  12. Kids born after you graduated from college.
  13. Todge announced last month that Riley was going to stay at SLC and enroll in the fall.
  14. I’m sure this has probably been discussed before but with the newest signing I was wondering about athletes qualifying for academic scholarships. I’m not sure if this kid or any of the recruits would qualify or not but would like to know if it’s possible for there scholarships not to count against the team totals. I guess it goes along the line of what the Ivy League does they don’t really do athletics scholarships but they try to recruit guys that can play but also qualify academically for free money. Just a thought anyone who knows the rules please share.
  15. I'll say I do agree with you but unfortunately there hasn't been anything new to write about the past couple weeks. We still haven't filled the coaching openings and they can't discuss recruiting until after signing day.
  16. Cancer is way too slow.
  17. This thread was more fun before someone gave a real reason for living in Lubbuck.
  18. I didn't know Lubbock was so great now I'm thinking about moving.
  19. Someone finally found a way to express what I've been feeling the past week.
  20. Yep Emmanuel Moody from Coppell but I think his biggest thing was playing time not really location. I really can't figure out why he choose Florida if he as afraid of the competition at USC.
  21. He can always drive to the liquor store that's always fun.
  22. None they shared with Houston in 76 and Texas in 94
  23. You are correct Sir regular season conference play means nothing we've got to win the tournament to get in anyways. And beating Sun Belt teams really doesn't help our RPI much the only way to get higher a seed is to continue beating good non-conference teams like we did with OSU. But if we can beat teams like that consistently we really wouldn't need to worry about conference play. But for now lets just worry about the conference tourney and just hope we don't get a 16 seed but I think we've already done enough to avoid that.
