Guys, if we don't turn the ball over twice in our territory and give they 14 points the game might of had a different outcome.

Usually they say any publicity is good publicity but this certainly wasn't. I don't know why the announcer felt the need to drag our name into the conversation.
-
If memory serves, when we scored and our player made a eagle claw sign with his hand in celebration we got flagged for taunting which set up several short drives by Navy.

Army can really run the ball. We can't stop the run. We will win our last 3 games to go 8 & 4 and hopefully go somewhere other than Frisco and Albuquerque. I have been to all our Frisco bowl games and wouldn't go to another one if there was a gun to my head. Ditto to the New Mexico Bowl although I did find a great hole in the wall Mexican food restaurant close to Lobo Stadium that was sandwiched a liqueur store and a pawn shop. I suggest you be packing.

Our 3 loses YTD are all against better teams. And yes, Army is a better team and will probably beat us as well. There is no shame in losing to teams that are bigger, stronger, and faster that we are. I fully expect us to beat ECU,UTSA, and Temple and finish 8&4, which is not too shabby for a UNT team that was picked 9th in the conference preseason.

Actually it was. We just got beat by a better team. It happens. I am most disappointed in the low turnout of fans. We had 27,000 opening game against Wyoming but only 23,00 against Tulane at homecoming. Whats wrong with this picture?
-
It was 23,000 which is pitiful considering it was Homecoming and we were playing Tulane. So sad.

****OFFICIAL TULANE VS UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION****
wardly replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
We have a banged up offensive line and have had so many injuries at running back that next week we might start our largest cheerleader. Our defense is really poor and the amount of time they spend on the field just makes it worse. i realize that I am just stating the obvious but what the hell. I still think we will be bowl eligible this year so there's that. -
Great response!

Well they seem to think more highly of our head coach than most of us,

Youtube has a weekly American Athletic Conference show, and this week it features the UNT/Memphis game as well as our upcoming game against Tulane. UNT gets a lot of screen time and high praise for its nationally ranked offense.
-
The " Denton Bowl " vs TCU, and the fans vote on the day of the week the game is to be played and kickoff time, plus the 1st 10,000 to show up get in free.
-
I would think Tulane gets Independence Bowl.
-
Such as? I am just looking at results but would like to see any information that you think might contribute to our poor defensive performance. In golf its called LOFT, lack of f.....g talent . Actually our defense has been sketchy for a number of years. One problem that an announcer of the Memphis game brought up is that our offense can score so fast that it puts our defense on the field for longer periods of time. With injuries I don't know that we have the depth we need on defense.
-
Personally I would love for us to play in Ft. Worth. However I have gone to my last Frisco Bowl.
-
So only 24,000 at our Memphis game which beat SMU at Stanford's 19,000 attendance.

He signed a $1 million contract with OU, who owes him the balance. It has been my understanding that UNT would owe him the difference if his OU contract paid him less. I think Littrell had only a 1 year contract but am not sure. However he probably will get a coaching job next year and the same payment rules would apply. As I stated this is my understanding of how the process works.

Early in my health care sales I inherited a sales district as their new manager. A few years later when I started my sales agency I decided that if my performance was based upon the performance of others I was going to hire the others. Whether they accept it or not head football coaches are held to the same standard and must replace non performers less they caused you to be replaced. I don't think Purdue's or O.U.'s offensive struggles will go away but it did make their O.C.'s accountable which is something our head coach seems unwilling to do as regards our D.C.

I have slept since then but I think Dodge recruited most of the players on the 2014 team. All I ever heard from McCarney was how hard it is to recruit at North Texas. While our defense stinks, as it has done for more that this just season as well as last, our offense is fun to watch. Naturally I want to win every game but to me the Memphis game was exciting and proved , at least to me, that we are not as bad as we played against TT, and that Tech is not as good as they played against us. I feel like we can beat Tulane this Saturday.
-
It's just hard to beat bigger, faster, stronger.I'm sure our recruiting will continue to focus on linemen on both sides of the ball.

Mountain West looking to add NIU/Toledo
wardly replied to ColoradoEagle's topic in Conference ReAlignment
Toledo not interested as per recent podcast. NIU thinking about it for football only moving all other sports to the MVC. However the recent post listing athletic budgets only showed theirs at $21 million so I don't know if they can afford the travel expenses. Having said that they probably are not getting much media money from the MAC and the increase to $4 or $5 million might look good to them. Who knows?
