  1. Now why in the hell would you say that ? I have been a supporter of North Texas athletics since my freshman year of 1961, both financially and attendance at events. Since COVID and turning 80 I have not been nearly as active as I have been in the past but that doesn't mean I don't care. I fly a large North Texas flag in my yard, wear green on game days, and continue to contribute to the Mean Green Scholarship fund. Regarding my post of our current national standing in football ,I think we need to know where we are are so we can see where we are going, which at present is the wrong way. Having said that I believe that in 2025 we will return to winning football and hope I am around to enjoy it.
  2. Might be last chance for a win.
  3. Sporting News ranks UNT 114 th in D1 football YTD.
  4. They would of had a sell out if ACC had been their opponent.
  5. Why run the ball up the middle from the spread offense on 1st and a foot from a touchdown? I saw Arkansas do the same thing last week against LSU with the same result and their QB is at least 6'3'' and over 235 pounds.
  6. Well if the shoe fits........
  7. If memory serves on several times when we scored our player gave an eagle sign with his hand and was flagged for un- sportsman like conduct The penalty was enforced when we kicked off giving Navy great field position and cost us the game.
  8. So FIU is 3&3 scoring an average of 14 points per game. Except when they ran over UNT for 39 points. I don't see the worst defense in the nation stopping Navy's running game.
  9. I would replace it with a structure that could include additional athletic facilities on the bottom floor and additional club suites on the 2nd. We don't need end zone seats that are rarely if ever used.
  10. So powerhouse New Mexico State pounded F.I.U 34 to 17 last night. Since we couldn't stop the Panthers run game I doubt we will have much luck against Navy and expect our defense to give up 500+ yards rushing and at least 6 td's.
  11. Other than Temple I don't see another win opportunity on our schedule.
  12. Well hush my mouth! I am chagrined! I missed this article and am happy to see 5 players on our defense mentioned. Having said that, and I don't have any individual stats, I assume they are playing up to their preseason honors. If so, they must be the the only ones. Thanks again for posting this article. It is appreciated!
  13. So someone posted information regarding the number of transfers that Texas State signed this year and because Morris was hired later that he was a step behind the Bobcat's coach in this recruiting vehicle [ I am paraphrasing ]. I asked what was the time difference between the two hires. The next thing I know is that I am blocked from this post, which had been deleted. I can only assume that someone responded to the original post in a manner that was illegal, immoral ,or fattening as the original post and my response to it seemed harmless. Anyone know what happened to cause the original post to be removed? Just asking.
  14. We are a bad team with a terrible defense that was awful last year. We have no preseason all conference picks, so yes, it is a rebuilding process for the next few years.
  15. So I missed first half but stats show LT with 163 total yards,6 first downs, and t.o.p 8:22 , only 2 completions but both for t.d.'s. Whats up?
  16. Different players. Hard to believe but our defense this year is worse than last year, and QB play not even close to being on same level.
  17. This is best comparison that I have seen. It is just beyond me as to how both an incoming Head Coach and Defensive Head Coach chose to basically stay pat on one of the worse defenses in the country last year.
  18. Agreed. And while we talk about the transfer portal being a quick fix there are only a limited number of game changers in the marketplace. It appears that we overall have been on the short end of the stick with this recent recruiting wrinkle while SMU, for example, has thrived in its environment. I used to think its a UNT perception problem, but with the immediate influx of transfers into Texas State under their first year coach I no longer do. The bottom line is that Littrell didn't leave much and Morris didn't add much. I have followed North Texas football since my freshman year of 1961 and this years defense makes last years look good, which I thought was impossible.
  19. Sadder that their team is better than ours.
  20. Parking included?
  21. My observation in college football is that incoming coaches run "their" scheme based upon what has worked best for them in the past and not what would work best with the players they inherit. As a result, while I am extremely surprised and disappointed in our defense history tells me that I shouldn't be.
  22. So in La. Tech hangs another 50 on us, which I see no reason why they won't, it might be time for out D.C. to fall on his sword.
  23. I used to think that Texas did the least with the most in football, although A & M looks like they have replaced them. However when I look at our ROI on $millions UNT has spent on bricks and sticks we are not far behind.
  24. I am not saying we didn't, just that we are only 2 games in with a new coach. It may or may not work out with him but I think he gets at least this season. As for being a fluff piece, maybe you are right. However I had a business for 30 years and have terminated employees , which I don't take as lightly as others.
