Unfortunately ABC is in a contract dispute with some of its carriers and Frisco hasn't had access to its programing for many weeks .

And yet we still only average 4,000 fans regardless of our record and championships.

Just a guess and by golly but as NIL grows and D1 officially splits into "haves and have nots" the number of sports sponsored by the "nots" may shrink.When the split happens the NCAA will be weakened and universities will have more control over membership requirements. When these schools have control of NIL funds they will soon discover that football and basketball will eat up all of it. I just don't see how NIL and scholarship monies will avoid being co-mingled but who knows.

Historically Wichita has had a great deal of fan support from its locals. However the AAC has lost U. Conn ,Cincy, and Houston, who all had strong basketball programs, since the Shockers left the MVC for greener pastures. The addition of 6 CUSA schools doesn't move the needle for them .

I will defer to your memory regarding 8,000 in attendance for basketball " several times" but you don't build a venue for the very few instances you sell our an event. Regarding Apogee, I would not have put the " eagle tail" section in the end zone and left that space for future administrative growth. Again the handful of times Apogee has been over 25,000 is in stark contrast to our average attendance of 20,000 in a 30,000 seat stadium. I may be incorrect but attendance at our game against California from the PAC 12 was about the same as our game against ACU. Hopefully you are correct and improvements in scheduling, marketing, and winning will improve attendance.

So we are averaging only 20,000 fans in a 30,000 seat stadium. Did we overbuild? Also when you have a 10,000 seat arena with less than 4,000 fans on average it looks pretty pitiful.Until we get an understanding of the negative impact NIL wiIl have on our athletic program I really don't know what I would do regarding investing in more programs and bricks and sticks.

Why would you put any money in a basketball venue that averages less than 4,000 fans per game?

Different pay for different play is called the NFL. I am no attorney but I can't see where the NCAA has the power to intervene in NIL payments.

Moving up in conferences can be difficult. Houston, Cincy, UCF, and BYU all struggled. Also, except for UTSA, the newbies in the AAC did as well.

Once at a point in time in a galaxy far,far away from North Texas football fans, the DMN looked at the college careers of the top dozen or so highly ranked high school players from the Metroplex. It was surprising to see the number of 4 star players who flamed out in college. I am not saying that I wouldn't like having a few on campus, but sometimes ranking can be misleading . If we had gotten just a little more play out of our defense this year against Navy and Memphis we would have finished 7 & 5 and gone to some piss ant bowl that no one ever heard of , and probably lost. The DMN has great article today on number of athletes playing Olympic sports recruited from local high schools getting NIL money. This bodes major problems for G5/ Mid Major programs and all their other sports.

We are now alone in 5th place , just about 5 points behind Memphis. Tulsa is #2, and sighed 10 of top 100 in DFW

Remember that UNT has played in 3 bowl games despite having a losing record.

They have moved SMU out of AAC, have Charlotte 1st, UNT,UTSA,UAB tied for 5th, Rice last. Navy doesn't report.

The one I saw earlier today had us last with 10 commitments and SMU first. Its a moving target thru tomorrow.

Guys, 247 has us ranked last in the AAC regarding transfers coming in. Hopefully this will change.

I grew up in Ft. Worth from mid 50's till I went to NTSU in 1961. Burger's Lake and the "polio" pool in Forest Park were the only places those of us with limited means could swim. I have good memories of both.
