Agreed, but that ship has sailed. No on wants a private school unless it's USC [ or $MU ] , and given the choice between USF and the Tampa market Memphis will continue to be on the outside looking in. The Bulls have their basketball rolling, in process of opening a new indoor practice facility , and also building an on campus stadium .USF could be a Big 12 target except for the bad blood between them and UCF. When the Knights wanted to join CUSA [ when it was a real conference] the USF president blocked their entry.

I agree another basketball only program might be attractive for our East Coast members. Regarding someone leaving the AAC, where would they go? In the next year or two the PAC 2 should solicit SDSU, FSU, Boise,AFC,Colorado State, and UNLV to reform the PAC 8. They might add another 2 programs but I don't know who they would be. At that point the MAC leftovers and the WAC looks like a match except for UNM. The Lobos seemed to have turned their basketball program around and just made a major football commitment in hiring Bronco Nagursky[ I can't spell his last name ]. They might draw interest from the AAC [I say might] but probable will stay in the WAC/MWC conference.

If the Conference Tournament started today....

Just saw a NCAA Tournament projection that had FAU and USF as only AAC representatives. The MWC, on the other hand, had 6 teams in. Lets see how the individual conference tournaments play out. -
Well if I had looked at our remaining schedule it would have been obvious what you meant, and I agree. Lets hope we can end on a positive note and make a run in the AAC tournament.
-
Are you referring to our regular season season schedule because I see nothing easy about it.USF,Charlotte,FAU,SMU,UAB, and Memphis are as good as if not better than us.
-
We probably need to win our last two games and have a deep run in the AAC tournament to be considered for an NIT bid.

Did his dad get the Texas State job? -
Hey, I was throwing spitballs on the wall and that's what it hit.

I know this may sound our of date but how about pride?
-
Thanks. I might wait for AAC tournament in FT. Worth but will make one before season's end.

How was the attendance?
-
Just a guess, but if we have a decent tournament then we might get another NIT invite based upon our win last year.

So last week Perry was the star when K-State beat Kansas. However Saturday at BYU he was 2 for 11 from the field and 1 of 9 from the 3 point line. It's great when our players are hitting their 3 pointers but sure sucks when they go cold.

We have lost 10 games this season and at least half of them were at the very end. Just can't seem to close the game.

So far Tulsa has sighed 12 high school recruits from Dallas. Whoever their recruiter is should be on our radar.

In any business if you hire the right person they are going to get what they consider to be better job opportunities. However if you have personnel who have hit a ceiling in your organization and seem stuck then you might have a problem. People moving up should not be a concern.

Another example - FBS needs to restructure

It will probably come sooner than later. It has been speculated that $100 million is the NIL buy in, which will push out a number of p5 programs as well as all the G5's. When this happens there will be a realignment of most if not all conferences. It could be $100 million NIL requirement for the Super Programs and pulling a number out of the hat $35 million for the next tier, and all others dropped to 1AA or another level in between. -
So we can prick them all we want too but the football coaches have recruited very well using "DALLAS" as a tag, and I expect the basketball team will as well. And do we have "PONY" envy? I don't understand our propensity to create SMU dialog as if we were jealous junior high students.

Regarding Benford, if memory serves we were paying off a fired football coach, didn't have the money to fire the basketball coach, so he coached the last year of his contract. Benford was a really nice guy who couldn't coach and didn't know what to do with Tony Mitchell.

His dad was all conference in 1988, and I think played only one year. The 1988 team included Tony Worell [sic?] and went to Utah for NCAA Sub -Regional's as a 16th seed where we were matched against North Carolina. My 8th grade son and I flew with the team and had a great time. The Mavericks were in town and we saw them play the Jazz.

No, it was our average.
