is that a sun belt conference logo on front of jersy across from nike logo? i'm an old man with poor vision.

i think he was making about $75,000. when they split the job again, the ad[ Andy, i can't remember his last name], got about $35,000.

they are driver headcovers, and too big for fairway woods.

Does Big East Hold Key To WAC Expansion
wardly replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
what would texas do with their other sports? i think that at some point the "haves "[ $texas] will create super conferences based upon athletic budgets and the" have nots"[$north texas] will have to fend for themselves.its all aout $. -

nmsu isn't interested in moving east for same reason we don't want to go west, plus they have major financial problems simulat to ulm. -

assume that big east adds cfu. both ecu and marshall have been pushing for cusa schools closer to them.neither unt nor latech fit the bill. we are too close to smu, and latech is too close to ? [it has no real market].they have 4 texas schools already, and the rest of the conference probably is not so hot on a 5th. i don't know who would make the csua cut, but i am afraid who won't. if we look down the road, and cusa door is forever closed on us and latech, then the wac might look a little better. bigger question is whetehr nmsu, sjsu, and idaho are going to stay 1a? utah state probably will, but the wac might look a lot different in a few years. -
Forget CUSA and WAC. Here's What I Want to Know
wardly replied to MeanGreenGlory's topic in Mean Green Football
notre dame, byu and hawaii had other regional conferences in which to put their other sports. texas does not. they will not go independent in football. besides,we are a little down the food chain for big 12 consideration. i think our athletic budget is about $17 million or so, while average big 12 has to be over $50 million excluding texas's $100 million. -

i think the belt missed the boat by not going after utsa and tsu. it would have created natural rivals for north texas, and allowed two divisions which would have reduced travel costs.. a west division with unt,utsa,tsu,a-state,ulm, and ull would have worked well. nearly all of the belt moved up from 1aa, except ull [not sure about florida schools], so to me that was a non issue. good move for uta. their new arena opens soon, which will help basketball recruiting, plus they have a solid baseball program.

both houston and tulsa were ranked in top 25 in recent poll i saw.think tulsa was 25 and houston 19 or so. throw in bama, and we have a tough ocs.

perhaps r.v. should name it FOUTS TRACK & FIELD STADIUM, which it now is.

ads in sports section of all local newspapers with open invitation seens like a easy, cost effective manner in order to reach out to the community. but hey, i didn't major in journalism at UNT so what do i know.

i don't know exactly what the membership of mean greem club is , but RICK is right. it is too small of a target audience, and besides, you are preaching to the choir. we need to invite "all interested parties" to expand our fan base. a large number of longhorn fans never went to THE UNIVERSITY, yet support them as if they did. JOE GREENE by himself should be a good draw. we need to think outside the box.

i never new they had a ram as a macot, just thought they were the tarheels. in fact, i don't ever remember them being refered to as rams. but then, i don't know what IMO means either.

i posted sonething simular on "helments". since we are now officialy the "mean green", wouldn't an eagle be confusing on helment or uniform? just asking.
-
this is not my position, just our ad's office. problem we have is that if we are now "mean green"[which i hate], how can you put an eagle on your helment or uniform without confusing the issue? and if you use interlocking lettets, are they "NT" or "UNT"? i think we are known as " NORTH TEXAS ", not"UNT", but hey, thats just me.

"son of worm", refering to worm like lime green eagle logo during hayden fry era.

For Those Of You Selecting Your Club Seats This Week
wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
if you want to know the names of people next to seats you are interested in they will provide. otherwise its blacked out on the big board. process was a breeze, very professional. in fact, i changed my mind on the way out to parking lot, went back, and chose another location without any problem. i had a great time, lots of excitement. -
the concern about" UNT "on helment, i'm told, is that unless you are from Texas and surrounding area, you might not know what it stands for. personaly, i would like the eagle talon on the helment. i have never seen one, it is different, and i think our current eagle look like charlie the chicken hawk from the fog horn/leg horn cartoons of my childhood.just an old mans opinion. This post has been promoted to an article

i was in Denton yesterday to select my seats, and was told by our athletic marketing department that uniforms, including helments, will be kelly green with "NORTH TEXAS" on both. coach MAC wants a clean look. they didn't know if the jerseys would have an eagle on sleeve or not. RV wants "NORTH TEXAS" on helment, but rest of uniform is coach MAC's decision.
-
talked to athletic marketing department while i was in denton selection my seats. uniforms will be kelly green with "north texas " on jersey. helment will also be kelly green with " north texas" on sides. we will, in fact, be "mean green". don't know about "patches" on jersey. fyi, ward

perhaps ulm could keep football in the belt, and place other sports in southland. they did this at one time. it could help them financially by reducing travel expenses, and balances with ualr who does not field a football team.
-
thats what the southwest conference was based on. however, my bad for using any school as an example. my question was and is "should the belt set a minimum financial comittment/requirement for its members?" sorry i muddied the water.

ULM brings nothing to the table. they are a poor school academically with minimun athletic funding whose students recently voted against an athletic fee. in addition they are in a rual part of Louisiana with few people and little following. as distasteful as it might seem to some, i would cut them loose. and yes, we can finger point. i am proud of what we have accomplished this past decade. we just have outgrown them. it happens.
