While the MWC must extend an option for SDSU to apply for re-admission by 1/31,it does not have to accept them. The A.D. at SDSU burned a lot of bridges on his rush to Big Least,and the MWC is making them squirm. I read online that they have been told that they do not have enough votes for approval.Gamesmanship.

Best article I read on line was that the football schools left in Big Least should merge with CUSA. By their count the combined conference would have 16 schools,two eight team divisions. Since its too logical to happen it probably won't, so I have not gone to effort of listing teams.

A-State has a good program,nice stadium, and good fan base. A bonus as an assistant coach is their recent history of beaing able to move to up to larger schools as openings become available. Finally, the title of assistant[or associate] head coach is just a way to pay them more,nothing else. One only has to look at our recent hire of an assistant head basketball coach to lead our men's program as a prime example. I wish A-State nothing but the best. It's hard to say anything negative about as opponent who kicked your butt 8 years in a row. Whatever flavor of koolaid they are drinking needs to be on out sideline.

My observation is that the Sun BElt is a power forward,not a center league, and that Tony is playing out of position. This coming from a fan who only experience with X's and O's is tic tac toe.

Substitute ULL for ULM. If La. Tech won't play ULM in a bowl game,they sure wont be in same conference with them.

I respectfully disagree that BYU is unhappy being in the WCC, which is bacisally made up of private faith based universities. BYU regards athletics as a vehicle in which to promote the Morman faith as well as gain acceptability from main stream churches. Where they are accomplishes both goals.

I think we are in the catbirds seat if we just hold our cards. I am assuming that SDSU backs out of Big Least as well, since they get a free pass, and rejoin MWC, which gets them back up to 12 teams.I see no reason for MWV to expand beyond 12 schools,as there is no one besides BYU who increases their t.v.value. BYU has a good t.v. deal as an independent, and nothing has changed to make them regret their decision to go independent. Then SMU,Houston.Tulane,Memphis,UCF,and ECU have a decision to make. Either move forward to Big East, or rejoin CUSA.We win either way.

I am repeating myself,which I often do,but in the end it will be like high school divisions: 5a,4a,& 3a. Pac 12,Big 12, Big 10,SEC,and ACC will be 5a.MWC,CUSA,Sun Belt,MAC, and Big Least will be 4a. All 1aa scholls will remain at 3a. Its just a natural evoluation,which makes too much sense to happen.

They did it when they split into 1a and 1aa divisions, and I don't recal any lawsuit. The NCAA is an organization that you join. If you don't like their rules try the NAIA.

I was there 1961thru 1966. We were 19-28-2 in football,even worse in basketball, but we always packed the pit.Saw some great MVC teams and players,but only one in green and white was John Savage.

Boys,it's Christmas, and no one has died because our mens basketball team was perhaps overated and maybe undercoached. I would not have used a comparison between Sandy Hook and our mens team,but I'm sure no harm was intended. The bottom line is that we expected sirlon for dinner and got chicken fried steak. While I would not have hired a coach without a successful head coaching background, Bedford is not the one who can't hit an outside shot nor has an attitude problem[Tony Mitchell]. We are just not a very good team. The UNT/Southeastern La. game was the worst college basketball. game this 70 year old geezer has ever seen bar non. I went to pre-NIT tourney at K.State, and in our loss to Alabama-Huntsville our opponent did what everyone else has done;pack in in on Tony because we have no one who can hit from the outside on a consistant basis. Mitchell had 10 points and 5 fouls in that game,which pretty much mirrors his season YTD.[ By the by,UAH had about 10 times the number of fans than we did]At any rate,the conference race begins in January, so lets hope for a fresh start in 2013 for our team and our nation. Tony Mitchel's ATTITUDE, for one. He has missed practices,and as a result has not started a few games as punishment. If his off court attitude is as bad as his is on court,he will bust out in December.

If BSU backs out,SDSU won't be far behind.

The addition of Tulane proved that, and was the straw trhat broke the camels back for the basketball only Big East Teams. Look at them to go after Tulsa if BYU stays independent,which i think they will.

If our loseing ways continue,and I see no reason it won't, it will be interesting to see who transfers out. I can't think that we have a bunch of happy campers.

Guys, Sundays game was worst example of college basketball I have ever seen.We were 0 for 13 [or more from 3]from point range. We are a very bad team now , and are going to get out butts beat Thursday.

We have no team leader,no one who plays with passion,and no one who can hit outside shots. Therefore our competition packs it in on Tony, who gets nearly as many fouls as points. We are a very poor team,with more smoke than fire. At this point I doubt a 500 season,certainly not a division winner let alone the Sun Bely tourny. Color us "way overated. "

I think our main concern is if the Big East adds 3 more teams in the West to compliment SDSU,BSU,SMU,Baylor, and Tulane in order to create a true Western Division.They can only come trom MWC,CUSA,and Sun Belt.In fact,CUSA looks a lot like the Belt.If Tulsa and S.Miss. leave,we are still in better shape than being in the Belt,but not by much.
