Anyone know the story behind his departure, especially at this late date in recruiting process?
-
Gee, I really do hope you are right,as we have only had one basketball player in history who was drafted [in 2nd round but didn't,make the grade]" Absurb, moron, stupid "seems a little harsh, but then again I don't claim to be a basketball expert and was just passing along information that I thought might be of interest.[ And he really is an NBA scout.] On another note, I went to pre NIT and the shuttle driver took a Denver scout who had flown in specifically to see Mitchell play and ,according to the driver, he said the same thing , that he sees him in college next year, not the NBA. I personally hope nothing but the best for Mitchell, but you seem like a real jerk.

I guess you are right. It's pretty absurd coming from someone who makes a living scouting college players vs. someone like you who.......

Taking an early stab at a prediction on UTSA football

And we care about UTSA's record because......... -
Perhaps, and I hope so. But he would have been best served by coming out last year. His poor play this year has really hurt him, and what he doesn't need is another year under Bedford. It will be interesting to see if he even makes all conference in the Belt.

An acquaintance of mine's son is an NBA scout, who says no way Mitchell gets drafted. How do you not score a point in a Sunbelt game? He is good athletic, more of a slasher, and not a good shooter. Bedford doesn't know what to do with him, playing him out of position as a center. Only way he has a shot at NBA is if he does well at combine before next years draft. I'm just the messenger.

Year 3 will be critical for McCarney and UNT

I agree that looking at our schedule we should fall in the 4&8 worse case and 6&6 as best. What concerns me is that I don't see any difference in the 3A and 4A players Dickey recruited and the level of athletics Mac is bringing in.Regarding Dodge, we are still paying for his last 2 years. -
I love it! Why don't you please forward to Rick and Coach Mac? This is the best NT uniform I have ever seen! Thanks,Ward White, class of 66'.

Thanks Diamond Eagle. -
Our football program finally made the top 10 in something. Bleacher Report ranks us #9 in top 25 teams who need a uniform upgrade.

Rick, I will defer to your better memory, but I think that we offered TWU $12M but they had second thoughts and decided not to sell. I'm sure someone with greater computer skills than I have could clairfy.Regardless,as a taxpayer I see no reason for a 2nd public law school in DFW since graduating lawyers are having a hard time finding jobs.Too many pigs, not enough teets. -

I didn't think of that. Now that I do you are probably right. The MAC numbers were actually ACC's. Typo by DMN. Oh well.

January 27th,p.12C of DMN had a breakdown of the top 5 conference revenues for 2012 as reported this month by Forbes magazine.Number 3 was the MAC,with $292M,ahead of SEC with $270M and Big 12 with $262M. Number 1 was Big 10,with $310M followed by Pac-12 with $303M. TV revenues for the MAC were $240M,just behind Big 10 and Pac-12 at $250M each, ahead of SEC with $205M and Big 12 at $200M. Individual payout per school within conferences was as follows: Big 10,$25.83M,Pac-12,$25.25M,MAC,$24.33M,SEC,$22.50M,and Big 12,$26.20M.Of the MAC's 13 football programs,7 went to bowl games last year. Granted that the MAC's revenues were somewhat inflated by No.Illinois's BCS bowl bid,but if I'm Marshall I'm asking myself "why did I ever leave the MAC?," and if I'm W.K. Im' wondering "How can I get in the MAC?."

Sergio Medina on Tulane decision and some thoughts
wardly replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Just my opinion, but we seem to be trying to get the "best of the rest" just as we have tried in the past. I just don't see much if any difference in Coach Mac's results than Dickey's.Lot's of 4A and 3A players, but I don't know how many from 5A programs.Could Harry or someone more knowledgeable than me [which would be a long list]give us a breakdown as to the level of high school play from our 23 committments ? -
Finally,of the 23 committments we have, how many are from 5A high school programs?
-
Is it just me, or is anyone else concerned that in DMN's list of top 100 area players none have committed to North Texsa? I see committments to UTEP,UTSA,La. Tech,New Mexico State,New Mexico,SMU. These are not exactly powerhouses. Is our direction 3a and 4a high schools outside the metroplex, which is about the same road Darrell Dickey took with some success?Just asking wiser heads than me for opinion.
