CUSA ranked last behind Sun Belt.

Sagarin ranks us 100th out of 251 football programs.Of our 8 conference opponents, only Rice and Tulsa are ranked higher.

I really don't understand the 30% drop off in attendance between Idaho and Ball State games. The only difference I can see is kick off time.

College Football Poll Week Three Rankings
wardly replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I have selected memory, but best ranking I recall during bowl years was in low 70's.This was a big win for a number or reasons. Now if we escape Georgia injury free...... -
This home out of conference schedule is an embarrassment, and makes us look even worse by dropping UTA.What a joke.

We both have the same problem. Fans come to see who we play, not to watch us play. That is one of the main differences between big time programs and one's like ours.

In all fairness,,M.S,U.is ranked in top 10 FCS[i think 5th,but don't remember]
-
yes, and so are we.

I listened to game on radio, and was uncertain whether it was bad throw or receiver ran wrong pattern. Anyone see the play?

I number on one side, and I never did figure out what was on the other. Owl in flight?

Official Ohio Game Score Prediction Thread

Ohio by 14 -
The last time we took a "wait and see " approach was when we dropped down to 1aa, and the parade passed us by. We are recruiting against both programs, and sticking your head in the sand is not going to make them go away.{ and since when did our bottom 20 program become so high and mighty?}

Would you like to see the UNT Flying Worm retro uniform return?
wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
When Harry went to the new format this is what was set up and I never got around to changing it. Certainly it reminds me of our Glory Days, but I had more fun when Corky and Darrell coached . During Fry's tenure I had 2 kids and was starting a new business, so didn't see many games.Oh well. -

I would rather look to the future rather than dwelling on the past, both good and bad, but that's just me. -
Surely you jest. We are a bottom 20 team beating a bottom 10 team.I am more impressed by Texas State's and USTA's road wins.
-
UTEP,Texas State, and UTSA were below us. I think 9 of 12 is where we should be at this point in the season.

Guys, we must be running on empty if we are down to bitching about drink cups.

Thoughts after week 1 of the college football season
wardly replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree with above, but feel home game against Ball State is better gauge as to where we are. It's very hard to win on the road, and Ohio is best team in the MAC. Ball State is ranked 2nd in their division, and we get them at home.At any rate, MAC looks stronger than CUSA early in season. -
3 day weekend for students [i assume no Monday classes], probably a lot of them went home.
-
I will be there with green shoes on. I went to the pre NIT last year and came away so disappointed that I only went to 2 home games. However, that was then and this is now, and I am looking forward to new season.[thanks for asking]
-
My bad. B.G. and Ball St. are picked to finish 2nd in their divisions, Tulsa is picked 1st.
-
Tulsa is 4 point dogs at Ohio tonight, with a 6:00 pm start. This game will give us an idea of how tough our schedule really is.

Yes, which I have always found interesting since our A.D. schedules football. It looks like we are ducking UTA, which had the potential to be a local rival. While I don't understand nor agree with the logic behind this move,I have a hard time believing that Bedford didn't run this by R.V. before cancelling.
-
I happen to agree with every thing UNT90 said except for his position on R.V. Until he came on board, the only new dedicated athletic facility since my freshman year of 61' was Hayden Fry's athletic administration building, known to newbees as the old ticket office. I know that he made a big mistake on T.D.,and the verdict is still out on Bedford[.However,it's my understanding that coaches we not beating down the door to replace J.J.I personally don't have a problem with any schedule that gives us 6 home games. In summary, I think that R.V. is the best A.D. we have ever had, if for no other reason than all the new bricks and sticks that have gone up in his tenure.[Please don't tell me that we would have achieved new stadium and student athletic fee increase with out his persistence, because we wouldn't have.] If he is to be criticized for his failures, and he has had some, then he should be commented for his overall success.Just an old man's opinion.
