Dave Campbell's Week #4 Texas Football Power Poll
wardly replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Todays Sagarin ranks us 91st out of 251 programs. In Western Division of CUSA, only Tulsa at 79th and Rice at 75th rank higher. However, overall Marshall at 66th and ECU at 85th lead the conference. Our next opponent,MTSU ,ranks 102nd, which under the Sagarin system makes us a 7.8 point favorite.[uLL in Sun Belt is only team ranked ahead of us at 80th] -
We still must quit giving up the long pass on defense. Everyone we play is going to throw it long early and often.

CFN Now Predicting North Texas In Heart of Dallas Bowl
wardly replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Its a little early for bowl predictions. Good example is South Alabama. However, isn't it great to be back in conversation after decade of MIA? -
At this point I think we are 8&4 at best,6&6 at worst. I have Rice and Tulsa as losses, and we probably will loose one on the road that we are favored to win. MTSU is a big game. If we win it, then I think we are good to go if we don't have key injuries. Put down 7&5.

Students and Alumni care more about winning than the BOR and the chanc

Goals and objectives must be reasonable and obtainable with a" little pie in the sky".Thats it.I got nothing else. -
CUSA ranked last behind Sun Belt.

Sagarin ranks us 100th out of 251 football programs.Of our 8 conference opponents, only Rice and Tulsa are ranked higher.

I really don't understand the 30% drop off in attendance between Idaho and Ball State games. The only difference I can see is kick off time.

College Football Poll Week Three Rankings
wardly replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I have selected memory, but best ranking I recall during bowl years was in low 70's.This was a big win for a number or reasons. Now if we escape Georgia injury free...... -
This home out of conference schedule is an embarrassment, and makes us look even worse by dropping UTA.What a joke.

We both have the same problem. Fans come to see who we play, not to watch us play. That is one of the main differences between big time programs and one's like ours.

In all fairness,,M.S,U.is ranked in top 10 FCS[i think 5th,but don't remember]

yes, and so are we.

I listened to game on radio, and was uncertain whether it was bad throw or receiver ran wrong pattern. Anyone see the play?

I number on one side, and I never did figure out what was on the other. Owl in flight?

Official Ohio Game Score Prediction Thread

Ohio by 14 -
The last time we took a "wait and see " approach was when we dropped down to 1aa, and the parade passed us by. We are recruiting against both programs, and sticking your head in the sand is not going to make them go away.{ and since when did our bottom 20 program become so high and mighty?}

Would you like to see the UNT Flying Worm retro uniform return?
wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
When Harry went to the new format this is what was set up and I never got around to changing it. Certainly it reminds me of our Glory Days, but I had more fun when Corky and Darrell coached . During Fry's tenure I had 2 kids and was starting a new business, so didn't see many games.Oh well. -

wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I would rather look to the future rather than dwelling on the past, both good and bad, but that's just me. -
Surely you jest. We are a bottom 20 team beating a bottom 10 team.I am more impressed by Texas State's and USTA's road wins.
-
UTEP,Texas State, and UTSA were below us. I think 9 of 12 is where we should be at this point in the season.

Guys, we must be running on empty if we are down to bitching about drink cups.

Thoughts after week 1 of the college football season
wardly replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree with above, but feel home game against Ball State is better gauge as to where we are. It's very hard to win on the road, and Ohio is best team in the MAC. Ball State is ranked 2nd in their division, and we get them at home.At any rate, MAC looks stronger than CUSA early in season.
