  1. What about J.T. Williams from Denton Ryan?I don't see him on either Houston or La. Tech's list of signees.
  2. Is 22 a small class? I don't know, just asking. UTSA with 11 seems small.
  3. We still have to play at least one money game on the road, which is a long way from the 3&4 we played while Darrell was coach. It's hard for us to schedule home and home with the power conferences on a regular basis. We were able to do so with Kansas State and Indiana, but that is the exception rather than the rule.Anyone who has an idea on how to accomplish this can speak up, otherwise as long as we have 6 home games I don't see what the bitch is.
  4. We seem to spend a lot of time on fashion instead of football. What's the deal?Anyone for pink gloves?
  5. Who was whining about only 5 home games? We could/should be 3&1 when we go to Indiana.
  6. I tried to renew my stadium club season tickets today, was told ticket office can't do it, and transferred to Roy in sales, where I got a recording. After an hour I called back, connected with Roy,put on lengthy hold, and told that Jessica was handling stadium club renewals. Roy also said renewals going out in mail this week, and it would be easier just to wait.Since Troy was promoted, I can't tell who is on first.
  7. I am sure things have changed since I retired from the business community 10 years ago,but at that time degrees from Texas,Texas A&M,SMU, and TCU opened the most doors in DFW. I can't speak to non-business majors.
  8. We lose recruits to schools such as SM,TCU, and in this case perhaps Northwestern because their degree is thought to be more valuable .If Xavier's goal is to play as soon as possible, then either UNT or UH would work.If its' about education, hard to turn down Northwestern.
  9. I recall SMU taking 2 linemen committed to us on last day. Its not over till its over.
  10. Big 10 vs. AAC & CUSA. Your choice? Grey shirt would allow him to ease into academics.
  11. It would be great if it went out to all alumni and those who bought HOD tickets by mail, otherwise you are just milking the same cow.
  12. What about the stud from Ft. Worth All Saints that had his Louisville scholarship jerked?
  13. Liberty for all sports or just football? New Mexico ST. and Idaho are joining the Belt next year for football only.I think Benson has done a good job just keeping their conference alive. I
  14. Probably on way to Chicago.
  15. I thought naming rights from Apogee were for "services to be rendered", not cash.
  16. Harry,DMN shows us chasing 4 other DL's as well; Olie,Washington,Jenkins, and Williams. Any idea as to how we stand?
  17. I didn't realize NCAA fixed the insurance problem, which was my only issue. Thanks for bringing me up to date.Regarding unions, next it will be the cheerleaders.
  18. About 20+ years ago a TCU football player broke his neck in a game. He spent the rest of his life in a wheel chair, and there was an annual golfing fundraiser to help pay expenses. He sued to be classified as an employee, but lost. The acceptance of all scholarships is voluntary. Athletics is the only one where you know up front that you have a chance of severe injury, but aren't told of what their liability is.This is the hole that I would like to see filled, which should be if they were insured. Do you have health care coverage that covers catastrophic injury?
  19. These colleges also leave them out to dry if they suffer a catastrophic injury. University insurance provide little if any long term benefits [high schools probably provide even less]What they really need is to be considered employees and eligible for workman's comp.
  20. Would someone please bring me up to speed. Thanks,Ward
  21. Did I sleep thru the details of Coach Mac's contract extension?
  22. To remain at the 1a level you had to average 20,000 home attendance per game in 30,000 seat stadium. This is why a successful alum donated enough money to put 10,000 bleacher seats in our stadium, none of which ever saw a butt.
  23. We played only 4 home games[10 game season] that year and averaged 19,500 per game in attendance. Lost at Oklahoma State by 2 points, and at Boise in 1aa playoff by 4 points.
