If Texas blocks Houston, then Cincy makes more sense to me than a 2nd tier Florida school.

I just purchased a $399.00 pair of UNT Gameday men's boots on line from Belk for $99.00. Sizes are very limited.

B.Y.U. wants to keep its T.V. contract as part of it's overall religious outreach, which is only allowed in the Big 12.If the conference were to add 2, they would be wise to look at Houston, as the Big 12 lost it's foothold when A&M moved to S.E.C. That's a huge market with no presence, and the Cougars are on the upswing with a new football stadium and good teams.

I can't believe that Baylor would willingly let them in.

Athlon predicts UNT v Marshall in champ game
wardly replied to pastorgrant's topic in Mean Green Football
Only 4 bowls? Slim pickings. -
It would be nice to beat them on the field before we beat on them off the field. They did knock us out of CUSA title game last year in our house,

What will the NCAA look like in five more years?
wardly replied to untjim1995's topic in Mean Green Football
It will look like high school . [6a,5a,4a,]. The big conferences will be 6a, the old 1aa programs will be 4a, and all other division 1 conferences, like CUSA, will be 5a. This is the normal progressive separation of haves and have nots. Since CUSA,AAC,MAC,MWC,Sun Belt have a little but not a lot they will survive but not at the highest level. It makes no sense for ULM to be in the same division as Texas. -
Any info on new Mean Green helmets/uniforms?
wardly replied to MeanGreen55's topic in Mean Green Football
Matt black. Of course, we have this uniform discussion at least twice a year. -
MGB: Hyder to transfer, UNT adds top JC wing
wardly replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Transfers seem to be a sign of the times. If memory serves,Johnny's program was largely based upon transfers. -
ESPN Pres season power rankings (may have already been posted)
wardly replied to Andrew's topic in Mean Green Football
The only difference between the "new CUSA" and the "new Sun Belt" is T.V. exposure, which is considerable. Not much, if any, separation on the field.Just an old man's opinion. -
Nine teams with only 5 home games in 2014
wardly replied to 10Eagle10's topic in Mean Green Football
If we had better attendance and more financial contributions from alumni then we wouldn't need to play 7 road games. Since we don't,we do. -
Did he letter in track?

With all the horse trading that goes on among the minor bowls this is more of a wish list than hard fact, especially when it comes to opponents.

1st year HC Brad Underwood and his Lumberjacks
wardly replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Actually I don't remember anybody mentioned seriously, and don't have a clue who we interviewed. I have heard a lot of hearsay, but nothing I would hang my hat on. -
1st year HC Brad Underwood and his Lumberjacks
wardly replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Basketball
If memory serves,SFA is a 12th seed, Tulsa 13th,and ULL a 14th. Nice job Firefighting Rick was right. We should have looked real hard at Kaspar, whom I assume recruited all if not most of these kids. -
Thank you Dr. Smatresk, Rick Villarreal and UNT Board of Regents

Sorry to lose the Ft. Worth Bowl.
-
You can't write off Ft. Worth because of poor past attendance. The market is just too big. Like anything in sales, you must create a reason for them to attend. I don't understand Gainesville unless they are going to Johnny's B29 across the red river.

New Orleans would be a great venue. I believe that a lot of fans would still stay if there school was knocked out because of location. Anywhere besides El Paso. What were they thinking? Early seeds playing in Juarez sponsored by Coke-a-cola?

UNT in the hunt for JC point guard Dequon Miller
wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Both the Sun Belt and CUSA only received 1 bid to the NCAA's. Is there really any difference in the quality of play? I don't know, and am just asking. Note: SFA is seeded higher that both Tulsa and U.LL. -
Moving from emotion to reality: UNT Hoops 2014-15
wardly replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Harry, based upon your assessment, which if I understand correctly, next season looks pretty bleak. By the by,S.F.A. is a 12 seed. -
Easy body bag game? Thought we opened with Texas@ Austin.Indiana is home and home.

I am not revising history, just stating facts as I know them.I never read that Fraschilla interviewed, and know nothing about Kaspar or Cross, but will take your word for it. I am just repeating what I was told by a friend in the athletic department. On paper Benford looked good, but then again on paper a bumblebee can't fly.Regardless, he is our coach, and will get a 3rd year unless this board is willing to put its money where its mouth is and buy him out.Don't see this happening as our fan base is basically all hat and no cattle, including me.
