***OFFICIAL UNT vs. SOUTH ALABAMA IN-GAME DISCUSSION***

UTUBE has highlights of our game. Just type in "UNT/UTSA highlights". It is a SBC broadcast but shows most of our highlights and is well done, -

My understanding is that the PAC 2 must put together a conference by 2026 although they could ask for and probably get an extension. At present OSU/WSU are the recipients of over $200 million dollars of PAC 12 monies if they rebuild the PAC. However if they join an existing conference without using the PAC mask head then those monies would be distributed among all 12 existing and former members of the PAC 12. The MWC commissioner is playing hard ball with the PAC 2 but that may soften in the future. At present MWC members and the PAC 2 are severely penalized if OSU/WSU tries to cherry pick AFA,CSU,UNLV,SDSU,FSU, and Boisie St. in order to put together a 8 school conference. However I don't remember when those financial MWC exit fees expire , or even if they do. -
Stadium attendance looked sparse.

I don't remember us ever getting a shout out unless it was punt return against Arkansas.

Maybe you are right. My major concern is Morris with his history of injuries. If he makes it thru the season injury free we could have a really good year with 8 wins or so. If he goes down the season flips. -

Well the good news is that Texas Tech may have a worse defense than us. -

Defense was SOLID? You have to be shitting me. Terrible missed field goal ? Anything over 40 yards is not automatic. -

I think we suspended 3 DB's for the game. -

And we do it well! Lack of student attendance hurts all our sports.

USA Today's bowl projections has UNT vs.New Mexico State in the Armed Forces Bowl, which I find quite surprising. Granted bowl projections before the season starts are like throwing spit balls on a wall but still.

Did you see where Texas State is ranked? The apocalypse is on us! -
Thanks for the clarification.

According to a contracts/patent/trademarks who was recently on the "Big Mountain" he is correct on this. The attorney said that the only trial that is reverent is the one in North Carolina where the ACC is headquartered and the original grant of rights contract was signed and that both the Florida and South Carolina trials are about state sovereignty [he didn't go into an explanation of state sovereignty]. The bottom line is that for FSU and Clemson to prevail they must convince the judge that the ACC put a gun to their heads and forced them to sigh a contract that has paid them 10's of millions of dollars since its inception. This is the only issue, and good luck with that.

Maybe you are right. From what I read the BIG 12 commissioner wanted to pull the trigger on U.CONN last year but was rebuffed by the presidents. The Huskies athletic department runs a $40 million deficit with no way to make it up with their basketball in the Big East and as an independent in football so they are trying to hook up with one of the 4 major conferences for all sports. As it happens the BIG 12 commissioner thinks college basketball is under valued hence his interest U. Conn . Their football program would remain an independent until 2031 in a effort to get it up to snuff but probably will always be a bottom feeder. In addition they must give the BIG EAST 27 months notice and a $15 million buy out. Geographically it makes no sense but none of the recent mergers do. -

I have heard that the BIG 12 would like to get to 20 members. However I don't see any advantage for U. Conn. to move only its basketball program. Somehow their football program is in play, which does nothing for the BIG 12. -

I doubt that they would be seriously talking if BIG 12 Presidents hadn't already given the green light. -

Regardless he is talking about UTSA, not UNT. -

So we beat Purdue in NCAA's, won NIT, and didn't move attendance needle one point. The students at UNT don't put cheeks in the seats and support athletics . -

"Locked on Big 12 " podcast is discussing UTSA's potential to join the Big 12. The moderator is using the recent announcement of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio merging with UTSA as a big step towards that goal as they now become the 3rd largest research facility in Texas behind UT Austin and Texas A&M . He also compares the Orlando market and UCF to San Antonio. Hey, don't shoot the messenger. If interested check him out. -

We don't have the money to compete with the big boys in the NIL. Also, our poor attendance of 4,000 average for men's basketball closes more doors than it opens. -
Stanford and Cal knew about the increase in travel costs when they moved to the ACC. Why would they go back to the PAC 2? Plus they sighed away their media rights when they joined the ACC.

Bean played well for Indy against the Bengals.
