Made his apology on the Norman tv station last week. -
DMN Bomar's dad contacts NT about sons future

the punishment of paying money back, publicity of leaving one of the top 10 programs in the nation and losing a year of playing opportunity is really a pretty fair punishment. Life will never be the same for him. If he wants to come, give him the chance. My brother in law already called and said he is ready to go a NT game with me. -
this president has great upper level thinking skills!!! no telling his SAT score potential. Good luck ND. may the courts and fairness be with you.
-
ebone and coach --glad you get it.

the point about pitchers is being missed--she can pitch every night or twice in a day. Roger C. can not, the Highland Park ace pitched last night. this sport is really about one star more than any other team game.
-
the UIL would be for that! They cannot stand a three game series where the same girl picthes every game or nearly game of the year. Lack of suspense and smaller pool of players getting action are the result.

Developer Plans 50,000 SF at UNT's Gate
centex eagle replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
change has to be embraced--I do wish I had a Mexi Burger about 11:00 tomorrow (1971)--more future support for north texas will come from business majors in all kinds of ways. You want a diverse group of students, but we have been labled as freaks and liberal like texas for a long time and that is not a true picture when I attended in the late sixties or when my daughters attend now. outside perception is one of only heads, freaks, etc. Not a true picture of the true makeup of north texas from a business grad. I am proud of the improvements to north texas to make it a better looking, better landscaped campus. We do need to take a hint from tcu and keep more of our future development in a tighter formation so you have a better campus feel and hope future retail growth will have a touch of class. -

there will always be I heard this or I heard something is going to happen. That is the nature of forums along with stating opinions. I think the idea is to make sure everyone knows whether it is a I KNOW or a I THINK. Keep posting! -

Tailgaters Bring Time Honored Tradition

when you look at the big picture and where you want to end up attendance wise, Adler is right. -
you have to be able to throw the ball and throw it better than we have in the past. Good teams can stop a great running attack with only a fair or poor passing game. Hall was a good looking leader, but even that passing was not enough to beat the big boys and their athletes. Look at out of conference games over the years.
-
hope the year of experience , added depth and competition will make this a much better area of defense this year. The Baylor game and their short passing game showed it would be a tough year for these very young linebackers.

Beating the good teams means there has to be a better passing attack than has shown up in the past several years. Not just a long pass here and there to catch some one asleep or out of position. A passing attack that can get the 6-10 yards when the drive needs it. Against the better teams, their defenses will slow the run at least at times because of their athletic front seven. Develop someone who can pass, not throw. Not many we play will be as strong as what Texas had last year, but a passing game really becomes important against those types. A healthy tailback would not have made much of a difference that type of defense. -
if you read my earlier post, you know I think the AD is doing great things. Sometimes, when you see things change, the great things like the tailgating structure are changed. I just want this aspect of the game experience to remain at least as good as it is now at Fouts. The rv hookup thought was to enhance the time people would spend at North Texas.
-
Making sure that tailgating does not get affected in any negative way and is only improved on the other side of the road is really important. RV hookups like A&M is putting in at all their venues is another.
-
Went to freshman orientation with my Junior to be daughter and RV did a great job back then. With this president and athletic director, NT has a great chance to really continue the progress of the last several years. Tailgating is great now and I agree that these years of students have a better chance of supporting North Texas than any of those other groups of students from the past. These students really have developed more pride to take with them. Gaining many more students than we have is not as important as slow growth and better pride and involvement of those we have. The facilities and campus have improved so much from the 70's that this really is becoming a place to show off and be proud of.
-
Steve Ramsey--the Cincinnati game was a great one. Ramsey had the receivers, but he had less help at the other positions than other NT teams.

Mean Green Tennis Rolls To Remain Undefeated

TCU has an excellent chance of being the top womens team in Texas this year. That went to A&M last year. -
the 5-3 mix would be ok. any more and you lose your chance for good local support and team comradarie.
-
If you want other schools to compete against, go the way the other Texas schools are going and add rowing or equestrian. This way you have natural rivals and shorter travel. Some of the equestrian and rowing teams are teaming up to help carry equipment.

Tennis program signs top notch women player

Look at the configuration of A&M and Baylor's courts. Put all 6 courts in a line with a way to watch from the ends. That way you get the best support from fans and they can watch and cheer for several courts at a time. You do not have to have as many seats as either of those and could even use a mounding effect to create the height needed simular to TCU or Houston. Today Texas' courts are a coaching and fan nightmare with their 3-3 and the distance of seperation for their stadium courts. You do not have to spend a lot of money to create a fan and coaching friendly site, you do have to have someone with creativity and tennis thoughts-not some architect charged with filling what space is left over after all the other fields, etc. are planned. This is what worrys me. This type of thing affects recruiting and once money is spent to build something, you are stuck. -
Tennis program signs top notch women player

She had a great spring from a coaching standpoint as they went from unranked to the NCAA Regional finals before losing to A&M. Along the way were big wins over LSU, TCU and Alabama who were ranked much higher. Final rankings come out June 6. If the double whammy was derogatory, my wife and I are UNT grads with two other daughters that attended and still attend(soph) UNT. I have a pretty good perspective of the good points and negatives of NT and Tech. I watched the USA conference battle play out hoping one or both got chosen. I'm still shocked at the stupidy of UTEP. Had a great time in New Orleans and look forward to what type of tailgate situation exists at the Baylor game.
