I believe one problem is that a local high school coach may realize that he doesn't have players ready for aTm or Oklahoma, so when those schools pass on them they likely understand. But, the coach likely believes he has a team full of players ready for a team like North Texas. When we aren't interested, they are offended. I am sure that happens often.

Me too Harry. I want him to do well. hopefully this whole thing can have these players playing inspired football. Hopefully Chico will get the best out of them.

Honestly even if RV himself came into the locker room and pulled Mac aside ... I don't understand how everyone is locked into that. Mac will land on his feet to the tune of nearly 3 million dollars. I don't have much sympathy. I would gladly lead a football program to suckidom and be announced on the PA that I am fired for being the mayor suckington of sucksville USA for a severance package that he is getting.

no you can't. I agree. But solich was running the wishbone at Nebraska. So changing it to what he did still required a lot of know-how since he was REALLY old school with his stuff.

Who is the genius that was so quick to give a contract extension when absolutely no one was knocking on Mac's door? That person should be fired!

do you think it had more to do with him only knowing how to run a dated offense in an increasingly pass happy world? It seems that's the only reason he would have needed to do that...

I would like a solich type coach in that he was really successful but didn't measure up to the (sometimes unreasonable) standards of that particular school.

I recall George Marshall being known to really be bad at practice in the early 2000's. But, when game time came he rarely ever dropped a ball (except against TCU when we could have pulled ahead in the first half).

It has to be the replacement... they have done absolutely nothing else.

Not so much a place as an experience... My favorite experience as an undergrad was when my friend and I (same major, same classes) would finish up our major papers and research in Willis and walk through the campus at 2:00am back to our cars.. We always felt like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders after completing our projects. That was when I was able to take in the campus and I loved walking through it at night.

I truly think they expected that periscope crap to replace the greatness that was Beyond the Green.

ah, good ol' North Texas. Can you blame others for cheering for other schools? It is a bitch being green.

We have paid a lot to a coaching staff to be back to Dodge levels once again.

It would be hard for me to change perception with the current athletic department in place. The only way I could see a change is if there is a change in the top.

But the peoples all said they didn't want Fran.

Very sad... and even sadder that I do not believe our top officials will do anything about it. :(
